I just came to a conclusion while watching this game. This game solidified LSU as the #1 team in the country, but it was also the game that ultimately made LSU lose the NC game.

Wtf was Lee thinking with that second pick?!?
He didn't see the coverage.
Saban is ridiculous at disguising and changing before or at the snap.
It's prolly better not to throw much against him unless you run combo routes that attack multiple shells and have a QB that can option to the correct route post snap.
Hi-lo with a cross is a good one.
I think this with some no-huddle quick snap would throw Saban off his game.

Just rewatched...almost makes me sick.
Once again, I commend the efforts of the players and coaches. What a great win. But unless I REALLY learn to appreciate the SEC Championship more for what it was, this game unfortunately seems like it doesn't mean a whole lot.

I can separate this and the bcs game and enjoy this game for how great it was. From the looks on the Bama player's faces to the tears running down the Bama fans faces, this game was awesome

Honest question that i don't feel like asking on the secrant...but here goes:
If you are a Bama fan, do you even care about that game now?

Just caught the end..
I just relived all the glory I felt back on 11/3, and now I'm left remembering 1/9.
One thing is certain, I can't wait for this season. I know there will be a different outcome this year.

Heck no they don't care. They talk about it on the SECRant everyday... along with their 21-0.

Even Bama is not generally going to be granted a mulligan. For $6 million a year, I would hope to get a coach that can win the big games the first time around, because there will rarely be a second chance. And I damn sure would be worried about going into this season, heading into Death Valley, with a defensive-minded specialist head coach who took 7 weeks of game prep and two tries to figure out how to beat Jordan Jefferson.
The the Perrilloux dismissal was a long bender that affected two years of LSU football. The Jefferson/Lee struggles were a long hangover from that bender that affected two more years. That's all over. If you were going to beat LSU, the last four years was your chance to do it. And Bama lost to LSU two of those four years.
Of course, if I were a Bama fan, I'd never admit in a million years how worried I was about the coaching matchup, and the fact that Saban has lost to LSU every year since his first National Championship team at Bama. I'd be whistling my arse off past that graveyard.

yeah, I'm worried over a game played by 18-22 year olds. I'm shaking.

So inasmuch as "fans" worry about the fortunes of their teams, yeah, I would worry if I were a Bama fan. Not saying I'd need a Zanax or anything, just that it would be central to whatever level of concern I felt for my team.

I think everything happens for a reason. So...with that mindset, ULM helped us in the 2008 season. Florida and mostly Utah helped us in the 2009 season.
That arrogance caused 2010...
2010 caused 2011... except that, with the tornadoes, made everyone too intent to win the game at home in 2011, which caused way too much pressure, and ultimately a loss. Let's face it... Alabama isn't great with HUGE home games in recent history.
But all of that created the motivation for the BCS thia year.
SO... if given the choice, of course I would pick a BCS game over a regular season game... Who wouldn't?
And with all of that said, it'll be interesting to see if the lack of respect in 2011 causes 2012, or if complacency takes over. Naturally, I hope for the former... and that it's fueled by the memory of 2010. But if it does create a little bit of meh, we always have 2013. Just like we had 2011.

Yea nobody else contributed.
Watch that game again he has 5 tackles before the end of the first.2 of which save 30+ yard plays. I am no idiot E Reid had the game of his life with or without that pick

It's a shame all that motivation fell just short at home on 11/5 when it mattered most. Lost control of your destiny and needed an assist by the media to get a second shot after we threw everything we had at you.
It happened, and we laid an egg, but that is some serious sunshine pumping to portray last season as some motivational success and not a very lucky break to get a second chance.
I'm not a Saban basher. I respect him as a great coach, am thankful for what he did at LSU, and don't hate him like some on here because I understand he didn't leave LSU for Bama, but for his dream of the NFL.
But if I were a Bama fan, I'd still be concerned over Saban's failure in Game I with everything on the line. He repeatedly made the same mistake of sending that kicker out when EVERYONE knew he had no shot to make ~50 yard kicks.
In a defensive struggle, where field position was likely to decide the game, he continually gave it away. 3 punts instead of 3 silly FG attempts and Bama wins that game.
But he made the wrong calls, then blamed the poor kid for not doing what everyone knew he couldn't do.
Luckily for yall though, the game didn't matter, and after 9 quarters of wearing our D down with no pressure from our admittedly very limited O to attack one of the top 2 defenses in the country, Bama got in the end zone and snapped the 2 game losing streak against our worst QB era in LSU history.
Kudos to you and your motivation.
See yall 11/3.

You are mistaking worrying for entertainment, Dr. Phil.

Na, sorry, two NCs in three years kind of cleans all of that up. Your delusion is cute, though.

No most don't care. Nor do they care about not winning the SEC. Although some occasionally pretend to care bc that's the only way to justify the farce of a rematch.

Oh no doubt, it should. Great era for Bama these last 4 years. I was just breaking down a game that should have cost you, but didn't. Worked out great for yall.
Just like in 03 or 07 for us. Florida and Ark should have cost us our shot, but we benefitted from others not taking care of business, and I don't apologize for it.
But the "motivation" factor that poster was talking about was just a little off base IMO, and just wanted to point it out.

Don't think I've ever been accused of being delusional on here before. So, thanks. I'm probably the most level headed dude on here. What exactly did I say that was "delusional"?
Pointing out glaring mistakes by a coach isn't delusional. That doesn't mean he's not a great coach. But he got lucky to get a second chance after blowing a game he should have won. That shouldn't mean that you bash him, just like after ULM, Utah, LSU or Auburn 2010 either. It happens. Great coaches lose games they shouldn't.
That's why I'm level headed and love Miles and the great run we're on since 2005, 08 and 09 not withstanding, even when we lose games we shouldn't (very rare under Miles), or he makes mistakes in a game plan or play call (OM, UT, GOTC II).
So, enjoy the rest of your offseason as NC, as you should.
I'm certainly enjoying our offseason as SECC.
Perhaps we can pick up this exchange on 11/4?
