What happened there? Injuries?

I don’t believe they beat a top 25 team last year, save a “new” LSU team in their first game with a new qb and coach

A 3 game stretch of better competition, but they did have some injuries. So does every team so I don't think that's a legit excuse.

They were overrated

And everyone, including the majority of people on the rant are overrating them again this year

They’re talented but they certainly have flaws. The winning streak they went on to finish the year last year was against teams all under .500

Everyone thinks because they aren’t as terrible as they had been the last several years that they’re really good now. They aren’t, they just don’t suck as much as they used to. Now, that doesn’t mean they’ll be a pushover and we win easy, their talent can keep them in it if we play sloppy

Who? Travis? Other skill players? A dominant DL?

Bingo. They really weren’t that good last year.

BUT they did make some moves in the transfer portal so it’s not fair to assume we’ll be facing the same team.

They didn’t beat any ranked teams and 4 of their wins against inferior competition were by 1 score. If we have almost all of LSUs team and almost all of FSUs team returning, plus the revenge factor then I like our odds.

I agree completely. No way to know what to expect other than I expect LSU to execute in general much, much better than last year's opener.
