Freshman will start at QB Next Season

No matter who the next head coach is, I see either a redshirt freshman OR true freshman becoming LSU's starting QB next season. Etling has done a great job, but I don't believe that the difference between Etling, our Redshirt, and the Incoming Freshmen will be great enough to justify having them wait. Next season, we are looking at having a unique combination of intelligence, arm talent, and athletic ability between our 2016 and 2017 signees.
I've been told that Harris WILL transfer. He does have a good relationship with Herman/Applewhite (if they get the job). I don't know whether that will be enough overcome the "toxic" atmosphere that between fans and BH. He graduates early. There is good chance that he leaves for a fresh start.
Next year looks like a fight between Etling, McMillan, Scott, Brennan, and Narcise. If Etling starts the season, I predict that a special package will exist to get our dual threats involved. McMillan is the wildcard. He has a live arm and is VERY athletic. Most fans don't know much about him. But he is LEGIT. If he's not able close the gap on DE, I believe that one of the 3 freshman take the job. Getting one of them ready is just the smart thing to do.

I believe he starts the season. I don't believe he is the starter by seasons end. Too much talent bringing up the rear.

So he's replaced why?
Bc of potential on the bench.... From a freshman?
Lol

I mean, that all depends on how well he does.
I don't think any smart coach would bench an incumbent starter who is playing well.

Conventional thought is that if its close between and older and younger guy, go with the younger guy. I believe that thats what we will be faced with (at least). The physical piece could even tilt it in favor of the younger guys (speed, arm strength, mobility, quickness etc). From an intelligence, decision making stand point, we may have one of the smartest QB rooms in the country.
If its close, go with the younger guy.

Agreed. Remember, I said, if its close, you go with the younger guy. Thats the best investment for the program long term. You'll have to bring a younger guy a long any way. Who will give us the best chance to win.

Lol! Think about it. Dont know who the Coach will be, but if you look at who the candidates are, it gets interesting.
Jimbo = likes Big Arm pocket passers (with decent mobility)
Herman = likes shift ellusive dual threats
An incoming coach could be drawn more to other options on the roster (assuming the decision making is there).

So................................you have no idea who the coach is gonna be, but you already are making predictions on who will be the starting quarterback. Okay.

I should have said "Whether its Herman or Fisher".

It could be close. DE does not presents "adequate" abilities. That may not be enough to hold off a younger guy.

I would just like to see a vigorous and fair competition between Etling, McMillan, Scott, and if they sign, Brennan and Narcisse, for the job. I did not always believe this was the case with Miles.
I would like to think that whoever is the next head coach would do what it takes to insure that the best one would indeed be the starter.

Etling has not done a "great job."
I appreciate his efforts, though.

Its been popular to say this on this board. But have you "actually" watched McMillan. I'll can respect if you don't no much a about him. But if you ever have the opportunity to talk to players or coaches (which I have), they will tell you that:
- he's very athletic
- 2nd strongest arm on the team
- potential to be a dynamic playmaker at the QB position.
His HS school film is lights out. Again, this kid has done nothing since he's been at LSU that would support your opinion.
