He might "work hard" but he is a liability on defense. If it weren't for his awesome three point shooting he would be on the bench.

Stringer and Hickey set the tempo on defense. Against some taller SG's his height can be an issue, but he doesn't let people by.

I will stand by my comment on his defense being notable because I think it can get lost in the rest of his game.

Woops. I just remember you posting it. Also, he wrote "Tigah" so I just assumed there was no way it was from a legit publication.

The number of kids in the student section last year was abysmal, at best.

Not quite. Remember Bradys second to last team in '06? The PMAC was rockin' towards the middle of that season.

I worked at the PMAC the past two years and as a sports fan I'd still go, even when they were losing a bit. They were losing, but to be honest, last year they were somewhat exciting to watch. You could see a difference in team demeanor from TJ to JJ. This teams has lots of talent and should be better this year. I hope we make the tourney, but we should be decently competitive at worst. I'd suggest going. Plus freebies are always nice at games.

Not even in the same league as how it was in 2000 before they chopped up student seating. In 2006 we were about to win the SEC and make it to a Final Four and the student section still sucked with the exception of a couple of games.

How can you say that last year's team was "losing," but kind of exciting when the team finished 19-12 overall and 9-9 in the SEC?

dboyback, just bustin your chops. I just never got the different colleges for different sports thing. It reminds me of a guy i used to work with in the late 80' s from indiana. He was a nd fb and iu hoops fan. I'd always ask him why not be an iu fb and nd hoops fan. I'm tigers all the way in EVERY sport.

Stringer was one of our better on ball defenders dude. Hickey was the one that got abused on defense all year. Hickey could steal the ball and played the passing lane like no other but he couldn't stop someone from getting to the goal if there were 2 of him.

This. If you think Stringer is a defensive liability, you didn't watch him play last year and likely believe that due to his small size. Stringer was arguably one of the best defenders on the team last year. Plus he's got incredible heart and work ethic on both sides of the ball.
