Not a lot of wrong info about LCA. No they aren't doing anything any other private school is doing. But the only people I hear say they don't recruit is LCA coaches, the worst part about it is, they bring it up when no one else is talking about it.
Recruit, not many people really care unless they lose a player to them. But don't bring it up in conversation and look stupid when someone chuckles in your face about a lie. Yes, we laugh and chuckle in the group that the coach is talking in while he is still there.

Spoke with a VC coach after the game at LCA. Commended him on his boys competing their hearts out. They never quit playing despite being behind by a large margin. It was probably the closest district game at LCA. He was very nice, wish I had gotten his name. Seemed like a class guy.
Coach McCoy; first year as basketball coach HERE and his son is the assistant. Both are teaching at VC. And yes, "The Cage" can be quite comical for home games. They love "mocking" the players/coaches but I think that most realize it's harmless fun and do actually seem to egg the students on.

And fwiw, Trev was at VC for a couple of years; left when my son was a freshman (NS job came up during summer training but NOT before my son got called "sweet feet" by Trev for footwork in ladder drills -- son was pumped). He'll be great ... heard rumor of Roch leaving Teurlings to go with Trev to "wherever" Trev would end up. Loved Roch as well during his time at VC.

There's always a position for the kids with fast feet
why isn't this on the msb

solid hire for their football team. Was not impressed with their last coach. They have some talent so he definitely won't be going into an empty cupboard.
I think that is the main issue most people have with LCA. Really no reason to press while up 50+ points against severely overmatched teams.
I think it hurt them this year. Once you are up 20 or 30, especially against an overmatched team, slow the game down, take off the press and use that time to work on ball movement and half court offense. Against Arcadia I felt LCA really struggled when Arcadia was able to slow the game down.
When the score is 70-12 and you are running a press there is no way to paint that in a positive light and Starks does deserve criticism from that.

Byron gets hyper focused and I truly believe he loses site of what continually pressing looks like. Just my opinion. If you are continually playing lesser opponents, it's easy to lose your edge when you go up against really good teams.

He is very athletic. He really likes baseball. He plays for Team Mizuno out of Vatican

I really liked coach Landry but I did find he had issues with players being maintaining position/scheme dislike on the field. The lack of size on the lines created some issues as well. My main issue concern with him leaving is the fact that he is the advanced math teacher (he is really intelligent). My son said when Trev talked to the kids, he reminded him a lot of Coach Starks, talking more about character than athletics.

I try to figure out why they do this and perhaps I am trying too hard. I do not like it but it seems so out of character for Byron that I cannot reconcile in my mind that it is without reason. I've known Byron for some time, before he was coaching a high school, through his ministry program. He is a man of high character in my opinion but no one is above criticism, he would tell you that himself.

Trev will instill character and sportsmanship and will NOT run up the score. Idk if the kids ever saw him mad ... I know one time he gave "the look" to a player for not doing what he was told with a kick off or punt return or something (idk late hit maybe) and let's say it never happened again .. With any player.
The guy had the total respect of every kid and it was a sad day when we said he was leaving. We had some heart broken boys.
