People should remember all the bad things he said about LSU when he got to ala. He said, 'I made LSU', He said, 'there coaches arn't as good as ours' and so on, please remind me.
My freshman year at LSU was 1958 and we were No. 1 so I thought LSU was always No. 1 (probably still do) but LSU was famous a long, long time ago, the '30s when LSU won Sugar Bowls (was it over Boston College) and Ken Kavanaugh and Gaynel Tinsley, sorry about spelling.
Saban didn't make any thing, he's lucky he knows Louisiana.

Yeah I don't really care that he's at Bama, but trying to take credit for LSU's accomplishments since he left was kinda wrong. I understand it's all part of recruiting, but still.
I believe if LSU beats Alabama this season, the whole Saban thing on this board will start to fade.

I think LSU fans will get over Saban when he leaves Alabama.
May be sooner than you think. See U of Washington's record!!!

Saban put LSU on the map, he is the reason we are where we are today
I strongly disagree with this statement - and why do we keep arguing this?
LSU put LSU on the map. LSU had already won championships in its past. Sure the 90's sucked - this was due to poor leadership and direction within the athletic department and the university. HOWEVER, it was LSU, TAF and the LSU fans who decided to commit to making LSU a contender by committing to upgrading facilities and putting money toward a top coach. LSU fired Dinardo, LSU HIRED Saban and he did what he was paid to do BECAUSE LSU HIRED HIM. Saban did not invent LSU - he also wasn't the only coach to win at LSU. He did the job he was paid to do - just like he is doing at Alabama. Credit goes out to him for a job well done - but LSU gets the credit for committing to do what it took to become a winner.

While I agree that LSU was a good program years back, today's sports is a what have you done for me lately deal. We would never be able to recruit guys like Patrick Peteson, Russell Sheppard, Jarred Lee, D. Byrd, so on and so if we were not a Contending Program right now.
Love him or hate him, Saban put us back in contention. Dinardo came close but could stay constistant. And as someone else stated, Saban said the things he said for recruiting. Look how many Tigrers he put in the NFL. Hell I would mind playing for the guy.

I'm wondering what will it take for you guys to forget Nick Saban.
Don't you think it would have been easier had the guy opted for a coaching gig outside the SECW?
Instead, he took a job where part of his job would be helping to destroy the program he built in Baton Rouge by virtue of winning in Tuscaloosa. He took a job that forces/enables him to openly recruit against LSU...to come into the same state in which he was adored by fans and ask their friends and family members to go out of state to play for a hated rival.
I completely understand the annimosity, and so should Nick Saban. If he wanted to continue to be loved in Louisiana, he could have chosen somewhere else to come back into the college ranks. Instead, he picked a place hated by LSU fans, and a program which we have to face every year. I think most reasonable fans understand the Miami gig. We were sorry to see him go, but understood why. When he came back to coach at BAMA after cowardly lying about it, that's when he burned his bridges here.
As for the Spurrier comparision...not quite. Steve Spurrier is a Gator. He won a Heisman there. When he came in to coach, he was coming home. Saban, like the vast majority of all coaches, was a mercenary. He had no connection to LSU other than the pay check. But Spurrier IS a Gator. As I remember it going down, Spurrier was interested in going back to Gainesville after failing in DC, but their AD wanted him to come in and INTERVIEW for the job, so he told them to stick it. The comparison to Saban is not a good one.

i've got a special room at my house dedicated to nick saban. it even has an alter that i can use to worship him & ask forgiveness of my sins....it's been over 3 years since i've been in the room. i kept the door locked, and everything in the room hasn't been touched since the day CNS left...you people have no idea how hard it's been for me.

Saban coming to BAMA goes against everything that is southern. I am glad he is here and turning this program around and I wish he loved Alabama like I do but I know that he doesn't. He is like a hired gun, you bring him in to do a job and when it is done he goes to the next town.
Saban is perfect for Bama just like he was perfect for LSU at the time. He is a great coach and great recruiter, but he is perfect for Bama because he has the self-conviction to stand up to the fanbase (like he did at LSU). Most coaches get eaten alive, but Saban is able to get through losses to ULM and UAB because of his personality and his self-confidence. He is unphased by the manic-depressiveness of the fanbases. Miles is too, but in a different way. LSU has been very lucky to get these coaches back-to-back. They do what they do and don't give a crap what the fans or media thinks. I'm also about 1% of people not wearing crimson and white that actually thinks Saban is a class guy. Aside from his gaff at Miami, I think he runs a clean program (cue parole tide comments) and does things the right way. When Dinardo was at LSU, there were a ton of off-the-field problems. When Saban came in, that stuff stopped. Oh, and I think he retires at Alabama. He made the mistake of leaving a good situation once. He won't make that mistake again.
I revel in what he's done at Bama. I can't wait for November. It's gonna be awesome. We've got a new rival in f*%&ing Alabama! Bring it on!

This is a very asinine statement. The Alabama job was the best opportunity available. You'd have to be an idiot to say "I don't wanna hurt no ones feelings so I won't take your job will all that money". C'mon, that’s stupid. This was never about not pissing off us. I only wish we'd get over it.
