That's your definition of HORRENDOUS!!!
At one point, late in the second half, Butler had taken 27 foul shots and LSU 11. Anybody who blicked at Howard was called for a foul. I thought the game was marred by ticky tack fouls on both ends of the floor.

Like I said, before the final minute, we had 20 fouls and they had 15.
Not nearly as bad as it has been made out to be.

if you can't tell that howard was getting away with murder out there, then you're not too observant. he was definitely getting the michael jordan treatment
And if you think we NEVER got away with anything than you're not too observant as well.

From another thread:

they [the Butler team] played their hearts out today.

I agree ... Tough loss today.

I am proud of this team

From a third thread:

LSU's senior leadership jumped all over us and we finally responded, but too little too late
quote:
Very proud of this team

I agree! This year has been a real ride at 26-6. Our young Dawgs were never in danger of being blown out the entire game.

From a 4th thread:

Butler played an excellent game

LSU was tough

We...couldn't stop Thornton
quote:
Normally when we play an out of conference opponent their lack of familiarity with out offensive sets produces a lot of open three's. There really weren't that many wide open looks from behind the arc today.

LSU was a good team today. We were a good team from 15:00 to go in the first half until the final buzzer. Our first 5:00 killed us.

You all should be very excited about what this team did and will do. Go Dawgs!

Just too much Marcus Thornton today; for a young team who played like it in the 1st half, it was nice to see them fight back.

you have to be proud of the way they hung in there ... Good game

We had no answer for Thorton. He will haunt my dreams tonight.

Yeah, what a bunch of jerks... The better team won today. And if today was how Thornton usually plays, my goodness, how did you guys ever lose? I'm not saying all of his shots were highly contested, but some of those fadeaways and tough shots in the lane he hit were amazing. He shot 67% from the field, just an unbeleivable player. As for Howard, I'm not sure if we said it on this board, but for the LSU fans on our board we told them they'd be complaining about Howard getting way too many calls. That's part of the game. For not having a guy over 6'8 though, we still won the rebounding battle, but that's about it. Good luck against UNC, hopefully your guys can keeping hitting your shots like you were today.
