You'd think the screen grab would be enough evidence

Who was QB that locked on to his receiver and threw into double coverage? Yes, the receiver caught the ball-- a first string D would have intercepted. That is not improvement... That is luck.

Ricky Jefferson, which the video you posted shows, is coming over the top. The frame you cut out is when the ball leaves Harris's hand, and by the time it gets to Toliver, Jefferson is clearly in the frame. You know, cause it's a long pass. It's the QB's job to read the safety, and you're being purposefully obtuse to justify Harris's bad decision and throw.

The screen grab is from before the ball is even in the air. A lot can happen between then and when it lands in a db's hands. Get over yourself kid.

Holy shite this is ridiculous.

If you consider that play double coverage, then literally every pass further than 10 yards is into double coverage

If you don't want the QBs throwing into that coverage, then you just don't want the QBs throwing. There was no player that is making that play besides Toliver. That is ONE ON ONE COVERAGE

If you're talking about the throw to Chark, I agree. If you're talking about the TD to Dupre, you're wrong. Perfectly placed ball to the outside where the defense had no chance.

From the parts of the game I saw, Harris looks far more talented, in a different league. It's going to come down to how well he can run the offense.

This is what I wanted to avoid in this thread. This isn't perspective. This is doing what you can to justify Harris, IMO. You have zero interest whatsoever in giving Jennings a shot.

You started this thread. Are you assuming the only way anyone is giving an objective assessment is if they say Jennings played better? Both improved, but top to bottom Harris had a better day with the 1st string O. How is this very basic observation in any way stifling Jennings? Why ask if you don't want an honest answer?

It was not a TD. announcers even stated it was double coverage and replay clearly showed it. Not saying QB was bad-- just not a smart decision. Turned out well, though.

I corrected myself after watching the vine, and said he was covered with safety help on the way (which a QB should be able to read). You're getting purposefully hung up on me using the words double coverage even though it was still a bad decision.

Sounds like the Chark throw. Definitely stared him down from the snap.

The play starts with the ball in the air

Hmm where is the magical 2nd defender?

Safety help on the way

Part of reading the safety is knowing when he won't be able to make the play on the ball

Which he did

I don't think it was a runaway, but I think Harris looked better with the first team.
