LSU can and did do way better than a sunbelt coach. Let’s revisit this conversation in 3 years when Napier is fired

So, the percentage you used accounts for 2 players. Both in positions of need. I guess to you the percentage sounds better. I will say that I liked coach Napier as a candidate for LSU but now that the sides are chosen let’s wait until UF starts winning SEC games before breaking out the I told you so. BTW same for Kelly.

I don't think Napier is a bad coach, but as of now there is not a single reason to believe that he is better than Brian Kelly.

That is a reasonable response. Napier does have something intangible about him that makes you think he will succeed but he is a risk at a P5 school. Doesn't mean he will fail but the intangible is a risk.

Kelly was definitely the better hire on paper and I am personally very happy with the hire. I do wish Florida had not been the destination for Nap though.

the most obvious reason no p5 experience is stupid is bc every single coach started with no experience.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on 3/19 (15.8%) of LSU's transfer portal offers going to ULL players... Seems to me the dude did a pretty good job of getting top-shelf talent to go to his "little league" school. I'd bet he'd DOMINATE recruiting to LSU -- Hoping for the best with Kelly, but I still think Napier would have been THE hire.

Ok you were obviously making a point about Napier being the hire because of the transfers going out. Every team takes depth in today’s day and age of transfers. So it’s not a point that is saying all of these players going and being superstars or even starters at other schools. 3/19 you so greatly pointed out was why I said that about 15%. It’s not a big amount and again says more about Orgeron and the lack of talent and culture LSU is in.

This take is so similar to most of the responses I've seen... and you rag on my "ULL" degree? (I didn't go to ULL)

The mess Orgeron made has NOTHING TO DO with WHERE the transfer targets played CFB. The mess made just means more transfer targets are necessary. There are 65 Power 5 teams with players LSU could have offered. 3/19 went to ULL players.

My GOD some of you guys are stupid.

You are the one that got personal about something about degrees. Who gives a shite…we are talking about football. I don’t care if you went there or not.
And the mess that Orgeron made has everything to do with taking 3/19 transfers from ULL. It’s a direct relation. And yes 65 power 5 teams with players that have no intention to come to LSU and would be waste of resources. There’s more than just talent coaches look at. They look at culture fits and things like that. These ULL players are here in Louisiana, culture fits, want to play for LSU, and yes have a talent that can contribute to the team as a whole. Also not a good look to say, “I’d like to hear your thoughts on…” then get upset/mad when their thoughts aren’t in alignment with yours.

You might want to look in the mirror before calling people and idiot.
