For those of you who want a new oc

How do you explain Gary crowton? Was hit or miss before he came to lsu and is a train wreck now. Do u think he was running fisher's o while throwing in some of his plays? Was les calling all the plays back in 2007? I understand he had a sr qb which helped but jj and jl never got better under him.
I am not happy with the current state and think a change needs to happen.

I'd like to see some more creativity . Maybe some misdirection but unless we drop 4 or 5 games I think we are stuck with stud IMO

The problem really isn't the play calling this year.
And if people haven't caught on yet that Les is the OC I'm sorry that people have to deal with their stupidity.
OC hires will only change the flavor of the same type of offense.

I wonder how Krags would have done if not hit with Parkinson's.
Les may need to make a hire in the offseason if this continues.

The problem isn't the playcalling, it's the O-line being unable to block even FCS schools.
The posterboy is Hurst, dude hasn't played one full solid QUARTER yet...much less game.
No matter how you fancy it up it all boils down to either the O-line run blocking or pass blocking, and they haven't done either very well.

Right. The offensive coaching is the problem. Reevaluate who is coaching Oline, QB, and WR

We need a real OC. Stop bitching about o-line, wr's and all this shite.
Our offense has sucked for years.
Think about it, the last 4 years we have been bitching about o-line and qb. Same shite. We can't fricking develop a qb for shite, and we can't block and we got 2 fricking o-line geniuses running the offense.

Agreed, although the playcalling could be opened up a lot more, the O-Line injuries are more to blame than anything else.
The NC game against Bama brought the offensive struggles of LSU to a national awareness, embarrisingly so.
The continued struggles so far have prompted us to become a punchline, with ESPN going so far as extending an apology to JJ and JL..
The silver lining of the national exposure of our problems is that it may well be what finally prompts a change. Its not going to be dramatic, but perhaps it will force Les to bring in a REAL OC next season and actually give him some leeway. Les is always going to have his hands on the offense, that is not going to change. But relaxing the stranglehold on it could work wonders..

It only seems like last year we scored around 40 points a game...wait that was last year! Till we pulled JL. Can't defend that move.

top 10 defense in country
borderline top 11 offense in country

Because Crowton sucked. He couldn't even make it a year at Maryland. Les is the OC and that won't change until we drop a bunch of games. It sucks, but whatever.
I would be all for John Chavis taking the head coaching position and hiring an OC that can run the offense. He would never do that to Les though and has already stated he doesn't want to be a head coach. Chavis is the main reason this team has been successfull lately. Les doesn't frick with the defense side of the ball besides recruiting. Let's see if some changes are made this weekend.
For the record, I have been all for Les, but this offense shite is getting redicilous. We can't even score a fricking touchdown in a conference game.

The reason we were able to score 40+ a game last year was because we had a HEALTHY O-LINE and could RUN the ball AT-WILL...We wore teams down in the first half and poured it on in the second half. We had a legit big weapon in RR and threw deep occasionally to keep the safety out of the box.
Without a healthy O-line, we are forced to pare down the playcalling to try to give Mett some protection. We dont have a legit BIG target at WR. Our offense goes 3 and out, and puts our defense back on the field. So basically our offense is doing to our defense what we did to the opposing teams defenses last year; our D is wearing down until they finally give up something..Still takes all you got to beat us simply because our D and Special Teams are so stout....

Not only do we need a new OC, but a younger and more energetic OC. And not another X-o lineman.
I don't care what anyone on this board says. Dropped passes? Shitty blocking and execution? Presnap penalties? etc, etc. That's 80% coaching, 20% players. If schools like Boise St, Baylor, Houston, TCU, etc who never get high star receivers can constantly produce great offensive squads, why can't we? I know that the above mentioned few may not be world beaters this year, but over the last 4-5 years, they've all had very respectable offenses.
Hell, i'd be willing to give that QB coach from Townson a shot! I doubt he could do any worse...

The offense has been really dreadful since 2007. That is a long time to have a dreadful offense. Surely, even a bad OC would have had one good year during that run...no?

Crowton was a 1 hit wonder prior to LSU.
Getting rid of Crowton was good. The issue now is systemic. Either Miles wants the offense to produce and gives up some control OR the offense remains terrible.
Krags on QBs and your OL coach calling plays... proven terrible.

NC game? They were appeared after the Nov. Bama game and got progressively worse each game. The defense and special teams bailed LSU out of numerous games last season.

I used that exact spelling in words with friends and scored 53 points.
