For those of you who thought Kelly would accept SEC's ruling and ignore his players safety

Koki Riley, Lafayette Daily Advertiser -
Turner's hit on Daniels was submitted to the SEC by LSU for targeting following the Tigers' 42-28 loss in Tuscaloosa. The play in question injured Daniels, eventually placing him in concussion protocol after he briefly re-entered the game following the hit.
"They felt like the play did not reach their definition of targeting," Kelly said.
Daniels is listed as probable to play on Saturday against Florida (6:30 p.m., SEC Network) despite the big hit.
Kelly added that the SEC has dove into "layers and layers and layers" of semantics when it comes to interpreting fouls, creating confusion that he would like to see fixed during the offseason.
"It's really muddying what a foul is and what is not a foul," Kelly said. "I think we're just going to have to do a good job of clarifying what is because I don't know what a foul is anymore and what is, clearly.
"And so we're just going to have to wait until the end of the season and have further conversations about those things."

Glad he's on top of it and addressing it clearly!

The corrupt SEC is going to lie, cheat, and steal for the program whose alumni rule the conference. The time to pitch a fit was during the game when it happened.
None of what the SEC said should shock anyone who has paid attention for the past 40 years. Corrupt to the core.

Welcome to the SEC BK.

Someone in one of the myriad previous threads made the best point. All BK had to do is ask which of the points of targeting it didn’t meet. And he needed to have them be specific. Asking them “is this targeting” is too general. If it isn’t targeting then they should be able to say it didn’t meet this specific point

^THIS
BK should have blown his top all over that field and caused a huge scene. He should have been all over those officials to bring as much attention as possible to this bullshite. I wouldnt care if he got tossed from the game over this. His team would probably rally if that happened. But instead he just rolled over and took it. Too late to do anything about it now

I honestly believe Kelly is going to take the safety of his players seriously.sure he could have made a big stink at the moment it happened and got ejected. But as you and his players all know, Kelly is a stickler when it comes to following rules. Now he wants the SEC to draw out the rules more clearly with far less interpretation. I pity the SEC ref if Kelly gets what he wants.

We have no idea what he told them. I'm guessing that they went into detail when submitted it, but like everyone else... I'm guessing. Posters here make it sound like he texted a picture to someone at the SEC office with the caption of "Is this targeting?".

Have you ever watched a BK press conference? If they told him what point it didn’t meet then he would have said which point the SEC office said it didn’t meet.

Has this been photoshopped??
This image is not a foul. But in real life, Turner's helmet wasn't off to the side. This is a bullshite image making it appear as the shoulder hit Daniels.

The SEC office is located in Alabama and loaded with Alabama graduates. There is a conflict of interest involving the best player on their team. If the SEC office suspended him, the SEC office employee would lose his job. The only true solution is to move the SEC office someplace like New Orleans, Atlanta, or Nashville.

Interesting take here. BK cant say a lot about officiating without running afoul of the SEC and or the refs themselves. However, a sportswriter can write or say whatever so why doesnt Rabalais or Alexander call up the SEC and demand a detailed explanation… instead we get some unknown dude from lafayette posing the question. I guess these Advocate boys are afraid they will get cut out of the bacon wrapped shrimp parties at SEC media days.

You have to listen to the press conference for full context. He isn’t going to let it go. He’s pissed

Everybody keeps using this image to try and say “NOT TARGETING”
But this image is BEFORE contact. I wonder why this one keeps being used by the bama folks……

It’s from a paper in La, you really need a combination of pictures at different angles to see it clearly. In this one the defenders head is clearly leaning forward, then in others it’s the forward leaning head that strikes Daniels in the chin.

No, it is pre impact. Go forward a qtr of a sec and DT hits JD square in the chin and the helmet stripes line up almost line to line.
The is an old saying “Figures lie and Liars figure”. Using that pre impact image illustrates this saying to a T.

Correct. No different than government. Go against their narrative, you lose access or you are canceled. Neither of those supposed "LSU Journalists" would take this on because they already know how corrupt the SEC is. They want to curry favor so they can be part of the "in crowd".
Nothing is ever going to change. Funny that it took concussing a potential Heisman winner to wake so many people up to what has been commonplace for decades.

It’s already been stated that the replay was not shown in the stadium, so how would Kelly have known it was targeting and not just roughing the QB (which was flagged)? He was told it was reviewed … what more should be done at that point?
