It's coming, just be patient. Let us not forget what happened last year when we let an inexperienced QB start throwing the ball downfield on a regular basis.

Jefferson is learning, growing comfortable into the position of starting QB for the best show in the state, and it's going to take a little time.

The vertical passing game is coming, but as LSU fans we've just got to be patient. These coaches know what Jefferson can and cannot do and what gives us the best chance to win games now and in the future as Jefferson grows up in this system. Let's walk before we start running, so to speak.

+1

crowton knows that the o-line has to get better at pass blocking before he starts calling more downfield shots.

you watch the miami game?

harris had ALL DAY to throw.

when you get 6-7 seconds to go through your progressions, you can look really good at QB

Jefferson finally throws for over 200 yards in the blow out win.
I wish, but I don't think so. It will be much closer.

Actually, I am going to go ahead and expect the blowout. Thanks for the insight, though.

for frick's sake people its ULL. I don't care if they beat a shitty KState and Southern. They are not equal to LSU anywhere on the field.

Neither was Troy or UAB of a few years ago. It is delusional to think that just because LSU suits up and walks out on the field that ULL will roll belly up. Last week, that team they beat in Kansas thought ULL was some weak sister too. I hate these in-state games because they are way to easy to take for granted it's a win. I believe LSU will win, but I don't think it's a given that the win will be a blow-out. LSU will need to earn it and hasn't shown the ability to put a solid blow-out game like that together yet this season.

Absent really bad weather, the margin of victory will be at least 4 touchdowns. Book it.

They have 22 damn point in 21 tries... Quit being an idiot.

I swear some of you retards that think just because this is their best team ever they are going to give us any kind of game... Unbelievable...

There is no way LSU is playing up to their potential right now, and there has to be a reason for this.

OK. I know I'll get blasted for this, but F it. I'm close to someone on the inside of the football team staff that told me the coaches aren't happy with JJ's progress. He is making bad decisions on the field and not picking up all of the reads that he's supposed to be from watching film. The offense should be more efficient right now, but JJ's holding them back. They know he is the future, he's just over-thinking and not 100% confident yet.

Go ahead and blast away on me b/c I know someone VERY reliable on the staff. I wasn't going to say anything b/c I know most will think I'm full of shite.

This is neither alarming or surprising to me and most reasonable LSU fans. No matter how you spin it, Jordan Jefferson is still one of the youngest starting QBs in college football. Like I've said before, patience is key. To expect him to win the Heisman (or even be first/second team All-SEC) in his first "real" season is asking too much. He will have his ups, and he will certainly have his downs this year. We all need to prepare ourselves to see those downs especially so we don't get too caught up in some of the unrealistic expectations people have for Jefferson and this particular 2009 LSU football team. He is surrounded with explosive weapons on offense, and if he can manage the game and Crowton/Miles can "break him in" and get those weapons the ball, we will all be happy with the results in the end.

Again, let's "walk before we run" so to speak. patience, fellow LSU fans. This has the potential to be a really solid football team if Jefferson can continue to grow and mature in this system.

Extremely. Not sure if you've heard, but every Saturday in TS is special.

You can't compensate for speed... LSU has it and USL does not... enough said!!! As long as we can get in the open field it will be all over but the crying for USL.
