Not to mention, universities usually lose money on bowl games. They have to agree to buy a certain amount of tickets. Florida netted around $40,000 after winning the BCS championship game in 2009 after all of their expenses and splitting their 2.3 million dollar payout among te other twelve teams in the SEC and the SEC office. They net more than 10 times that amount for regular season SEC games.

So don't tell me that bowl games are profitable for universities.

I am just amazed at how many people are opposed to playoffs and cite all these reasons with money etc.....how are funds divided in ncaa basketball for the tourney....it is done in other sports yet cfb it would be impossible
