And yet the OC we fired had far more OC experience despite 15 years his junior

I read today that they're looking to be more of a passing team that exploits our talent at WR.

...they have to be in the immediate term because they have no horses at RB. In years past, LSU has had a gold mine of proven talent there, but that has ended.

There are no backs on the roster that can be expected to fill Guice's or William's shoes. So, you better get ready to sling it.....

Ensminger was co-OC for the 2003 Auburn Tigers that team took a backfield with three first rounders between Carnell Williams, Ronnie Brown, and Jason Campbell; as well as a pretty solid WR corps; and managed to muster up 3 points in the first two games combined en route to a very disappointing 7-5 season

You forgot to mention that Brandon Jacobs was 3rd string RB as well.

We thrashed that team, 31-7. Old Tubs went for it on 4th down and short on our side of the field and Lavalais just destroyed Cadillac in the backfield. We were up 31-0 until they scored a TD late in garbage time. I’ll always remember the first time I saw Brandon Jacobs come into the game. Dude was YUUUUUUUGGGE!

This is a dumb topic even if it WAS for a laugh.

Bottom line is we shouldn't be hiring unproven people nobody wants. A school our level should be able to bring in plenty of proven coaches either moving laterally across a p5 school or an up and coming coach from somewhere like UCF. Not High school/Juco level coordinators or assistant coach level guys. All it does is show what Alleva thinks we deserve as a team. Which is funny since neither him or F.King are really LSU fans for any amount of time.

No matter how you try to spin and fluff up the hire it's still a weak hire. Ill say it again, the free market is usually a good indicator of what you have and no one was coming after SE to be their OC. The same applies to our HC. It all may work out but odds are it will just be more of the same.
