Take a look back since Saban took over the program. We have had seasons where we struggled to win 8-9 games. Saban even had struggles in that time frame. We always seemed to rebound back.I am looking forward to the day we rebound and leave all you life boat seekers adrift.

Go tigers!!!!

Saban had to rebuild

The point of hiring O was to avoid a rebuild

Holy shite

I hear ya! This is not however a this year fix. The offensive line is terrible blame O and Canada for running off 6 players, blame Les for being a stubborn arse, blame whoever bottom line until we get better on the line of scrimmage we are not contender.

Nothing other than winning will stop some of these folks from melting. Even then, a few will still swear that it's the end if LSU.

This is even more discouraging.

Saban of 20 years ago is better than Ed Orgeron is now. That Saban is likely better than Orgeron will ever be.

That tells you how difficult it is to manage a program even for a great coach like Saban and you can't just sub in any old coach and expect results just because the infrastructure is outstanding.

The life boat is that Sumlin, Butch, Beleimia, McElwain, Malzahn, are coaches in the SEC. All of which are on the hot seat. Yes Saban is a coach too, but who is expecting to win that game.

You comparing O to Saban?

Everyone knew Saban was a rising star. Everyone knows O is a fricking idiot who shouldn't be a HC in the SEC

This. With Saban, success was expected based on his reputation. Even with a loss, most fans could still be positive that Saban would bounce back and return to winning. With O, success is hoped for but not really expected based on his reputation. A loss such as to Miss State generates more of a "knew this was gonna happen" reaction.

This is not completely true. Saban inherited 19 players that went on to play in the NFL that started on his first year team. DiNardo recruited well. The pantry was not bare when Saba come here. He just coached better than Dinardo and also developed players.

Truth be told -- actually not many LSU fans had really heard of Nick Saban and many balked at the hire because he was not a "big name" --- in fact, the few that looked it up, confirmed that his MSU team had actually been beaten in the Independence Bowl by Gerry Dinardo's LSU team that "brought back the magic" --- as in, LSU returned to a bowl game --- any bowl game for the first time in many years and proudly went to Shreveport to play in that bowl.

don't revise history to make it fit your narrative.

Heck, Nick Saban had many detractors among the LSU faithful while he was LSU's coach.

Bottom line --- many (not saying you necessarily) LSU fans simply enjoy complaining.... it's been that way for generations... "love 'dem tigahs ... but love to bitch about 'em more" is how I'd classify it.

This isn't about any coach. This is about any program. You will have ups and downs. Yes Alabama has been the most consistent program for a while and many want us to be at that level. I agree we should be. All I am saying is our ship may be sinking but only time will tell. I challenge each of you that feel as if it's sinking to look in the mirror and say you haven't made mistakes in your careers no matter if your a burger flipper or president of a multi million dollar company.

I will end by saying this Coach O may not be the right guy. But can you with out a doubt say you know who the right guy is?

Go tigers!

We were sold on no rebuild. Getting blown the frick out by State is either a rebuild, or a shitty coach. Either way, we were lied to.

I don't know if everyone knew this. Saban was the equivalent of what Fuente, Gundy are today; winning coach at a little brother school in a big conference.

Difference is how we feel entitled to something more than that today. All of a sudden we need a "proven" coach, when Saban back then was no more proven than Fuente, Gundy are right now.

I still don't know how the hell Orgeron qualifies as proven.

O doesn't even have that feather in his cap. His only redeeming quality was his interim records at LSU and USC. His fulltime stint here is not looking good so far.

Saban took over a bad Michigan State team and got them in the top 5 at one time. What did O do with Ole Miss? People at least knew that Saban could run a program. You don't have that same luxury with O and that's just the facts.

Get your head out of you --- and face the truth. This job is a rebuild. The lack of offensive lineman and skilled receivers is real. O took over a team with receivers having little experience and lacking SEC talent. His offensive line has been forced into starting freshman. This is not his fault.
