If you're talking about the AP Poll (the more informed one) I would definitely say there is no way USC gets placed over Florida, Texas and Oklahoma, if you just look at the quarterbacks returning. Those 3 will be tops for the first half of the year.

depends on the site. Some will be a simple numerical list while others will have detail and explanations to go with it. Ive also seen some sites start at #10 and count down (or "up" if you will) to #1. I guess it builds excitement.

For what it's worth, Lee Corso has us preseason #4. Colin Cowherd has us preseason #5. The Atlanta Journal Constitution has us preseason #6.
