yea that really helped us out this year

I hope Florida is on top, because preseason #1 tends not to win the NC.

1. Univ. of Mack Brown
2. CUM's gators
3. ESPN has a hard on for USC
4. "Big Game Blower Stoops"
5. All about the dollar and his Gumps
6. LSU
7. The non-mormans from Utah
8. Should we leave the WAC, Boise
9. Weebles
10. We miss The Hat, Okie St.

I'd like to start at 11-15, and progress down.

This is just my opinion of where they will rank them:
1. Florida
2. Texas
3. Oklahoma
4. USC- based on media's love of USC- I think they should be ranked lower this year (I mean every year)
5. Ohio State
6. Oklahoma State
7. Penn State- the media loves JoePa and will keep his team in the top 10
8. LSU
9. Utah
10. Alabama- I think losing some big players will knock them down (Wilson and Smith). The bowl game showed how much they will miss Smith.
I think Notre Dame will be at #12-15. I think they are overrated. Urban Meyer will be at ND for 2010.

1. Florida- returns much from MNC team. Lethal.
2. Texas- returns much from a good team last year.
3. tOSU- same as above, and with Prior a bit more experienced.
4. OU- will steamroll people until the RRS.
5. USC- new QB will have most of the offense returning, and a killer secondary on D. Green LB's and DL could be an issue.
6. LSU- JJ or Shep? Either guarantees it won't be another 5 loss season, as does getting rid of Malveto.
7. Bama- New QB means minimum 3 losses for the Tide. They'll start high though.
8. Oregon- Masoli running that offense is like a greased pig with a sub 4.6 forty.
9. Okie State- T-Boone's $ paying dividends for his "man-coach".
10. Penn State- Could challenge tOSU for the Big 11 again.

I was shocked no one else included Utah in their top 10 predictions. Cause OMG they're now a national power!

Do you think LSU is preseason top 10?
I hope they aren't. I want them to prove they belong and work their way up. Maybe start em at 12 or 13

Many teams belong above them. Take off the P&G glasses and look at the team objectively. Defensive still has to prove they can stop the pass and offense will struggle with young QB. LSU plays in the SEC, experience at QB counts for alot with the defensive's in this league.
That said,we'll do much better than last year.LSU
Starts at #12 IMHO.

LAST YEARS.....FWIW
What does this mean....it proves a whole lot of nothing....now let's talk in October!
What does this mean....it proves a whole lot of nothing....now let's talk in October!
quote:
1. Georgia Bulldogs
Any team that has two potential number one picks (QB Matthew Stafford and RB Knowshow Moreno) on its roster is bound to be good. At the end of 2007 no team, with the exception of USC, played better or with more swagger. Expect the same in 2008, with a trip to the BCS Championship Game if they do.
2. USC Trojans
The men of Troy do not re-build, they reload. The 2008 version would unveil a new QB (Mark Sanchez) and a new look offensive line, but with one of the most athletic defenses in the nation and the presence of ultra-talented RB Joe McKnight; the Trojans would rule the PAC-10 and could make a strong move towards the top of the rankings.
3. Florida Gators
If Florida played in any other Conference, they would have been ranked No. 1. Nevertheless, with QB Tim Tebow and WR Percy Harvin (perhaps the best Gator receiver in the last five years) and a defensive unit with a year under its belt, don't be surprise if the Gators are playing in the BCS game.
4. Ohio State Buckeyes
Ohio State will bring back possibly the most talented overall squad in the nation. The defense led by James Laurinaitis and Malcolm Jenkins is prime to dominate. On the offensive side, RB Chris Wells will provide stability. The only question about the Buckeyes is their mental state after two brutal losses against top competition. They should win the Big 10, but there's little chance (the same was believed last year) that they could make it to the Championship game for a record third straight time.
5. Oklahoma Sooners
If super freshman QB Sam Bradford was not injured during the later part of the Sooner's season, Oklahoma might well have played in the Championship game. If he stay healthy and the defense gels as coach Stoops believes, Oklahoma could find its way back to the top of college football.
6. Texas Longhorns
Texas' fortunes rest sorely on the shoulder of the once promising QB Colt McCoy. If he is able to regain some of the magic he displayed during his freshman season, the team is talented enough on defense and offensive skill players to make a push for a bigger bowl game than the Holiday. This team is one of the sleepers in the race for the championship.
7. Missouri Tigers
QB Chase Daniels and the rest of the Tigers got a taste of what life at the top can be and they want more. Daniels is as talented as any QB in the nation. This fact and a defense that returned 10 starters should give Missouri its first real opportunity to grab sole possession of the Big 12 Conference.
8. West Virginia Mountaineers
West Virginia's lofty ranking has more to do with the conference the team plays in than any other reason. That aside, any team that is led by as talented a QB (Pat White) as West Virginia is, anything is possible. The defense is solid and blessed with speed. A BCS bid is very likely. Anything more would be a welcome surprise.
9. Wisconsin Badgers
This is a gut pick. The Badgers are re-tooling on defense and only PJ Hill and TE Travis Beckum stand up on offense; but if the defense gels as expected and Hill has one of those outstanding seasons he is capable of having, Wisconsin can actually challenge the Buckeyes for the conference championship and a trip to a BCS game.
10. LSU Tigers
The defending National Champions are in the midst of a major re-building effort. Gone are the team's top defensive players and a good chunk of its skill players crop. They need to find a new QB, RB and WR; plus re-fitting its defensive unit. They are such a talented and deep squad that the Tigers could make it to the SEC Championship game.

We should not be top 10, Bama should not be ranked as high as 6, more like 10, and you need to hav Utah in there somewhere.

No... they will be just shy of it. My guess is 12.
+1
The polls weren't kind to LSU at the end of the season and, recruiting aside, there's no reason to expect that will change.
Truth be told: It's fair to drop an 8-5 team out of the top 25, even following a lopsided bowl win over a ranked opponent.
I think a preseason 12 is about right.

Yea, because averaging 12 wins a year and a BCS bowl record of 6-1 sure does suck.

12 wins a year coming against the best that western high schools have to offer. And 6-1 in bowl games played in their own damn stadium. Yeah, they DO suck.

i'm seeing a lot of "lsu shouldn't be in the top 10, maybe 12-15"... well, what teams are you putting ahead of lsu?

Including several wins against the SEC, Virginia Tech and a few others.
I didn't realize the Rose Bowl was played at the Coliseum.
Also, do you discount LSU's Sugar Bowl wins as well?

Auburn 2x and Arkansas 2x. Virginia Tech won the ACC the year SC beat them - similar to LSU.
Also, USC is 2-0 in the Orange Bowl (with two blow outs).
You may not like them, but SC is a pretty good program.
