Not to mention Crowton is much better than Jimbo.
This is essential to remember when comparing 2006 vs. 2007 offenses.
I would probably take the JR/Scott combo, but you cant go wrong with either.

JUST my opinion, Jacob Hester was one of my all time favorite players, any level. "Old school" football mentality, no showboating, ect...
I wish every player had his attitude.

Could you provide examples of Charles Scott showboating? Thanks.

This is his third year there should be no more excuses so why don't you draft him as your fanstasy QB
1. I don't play fantasy football
2. Next season will be his 2nd year starting, and he is the youngest starting QB in the NFL
3. If I did play fantasy football, I think I would chose hall of fame caliber QB's (Brady, Manning, Brees, possibly McNabb) over a young QB under a new coach with no offensive weapons
4. JR finished last year strong in spite of his team, so if i did play I would draft him as a backup

Sorry, didn't mean to insinuate Scott ever did, just was mentioning some of the things I loved about Hester. My bad!

He's 23 and so is Matt Ryan, or are you doing the "he's a month and 2 days and 4 hours and 31 minutes younger" thing?

i'm saying he is the youngest starting QB in the NFL, which is a fact. I'm not sure what the point of your post was

Lafell will be a 1st rounder; Dickson will be top 3 rounds; and Byrd should have been drafted
Thats a bit of a sssttrreeeettcchhh. Two years after Flynn graduates, you want to claim that the WRs will be playing as 1st rounders. And Byrd? Byrd was only going to be drafted based on workouts, not his on the field performances. So its not even close as far as the talent surrounding each QB.

and a tougher schedule
No way, no how.
Yeah, cause the facts dont matter:
2006 - avg final ranking of BCS ranked opponents (10th), out of 5 ranked teams
2007 - avg final ranking of BCS ranked opponents (10th), out of 6 ranked teams
2006 - .569 opp win %, .491 OOC opp win %
2007 - .578 opp win %, .563 OOC opp win %
None of what you've opined can explain away 103 more less pts by Russell's offense, with FAR SUPERIOR skill players
2006 - points scored 438
2007 - points scored 541

dude
we played 4 top 25 teams on the road, including the national champions that year. 2 of those teams finished top 10
who did we play in 2007? Auburn? Florida? neither were as good as in 2006, and we got both at home

JR was the best QB in CFB in 2006
MF was a mediocre SEC QB in 2007

robbbobb had a pretty awesome "statistical analysis" he posted earlier in this thread that was supposed to prove flynn was better. somehow it didn't include any QB stats. go figure

All four of them WERE top 10 when we played them. That makes the schedule even that more fricking ridiculous.
A couple of other notes from recent pages:
- Kentucky WAS ranked in 07 when we played them. I believe they were #17 at the time, in fact.
- RobbBobb, the world would be better off if you iced yourself. 07's schedule was tougher? God you're a cocksucker
- LOSING TO TWO TOP 10 TEAMS ON THE ROAD IS NOT THE SAME AS LOSING TO TWO TEAMS THAT FINISHED THE SEASON UNRANKED YOU GOD DAMN frickTARD BASTARDS.

Absurdly efficient and talented. He absolutely tore people apart, and in games where he struggled (like Tenn), he came back to lead us to victories. Shame on him for losing to UF, who arse raped the #1 team in the country at the end of the year!

Struggled to complete half of his passes, despite Crowton's QB friendly offense that year. Most of the passes were screens, slants, dumpoffs, etc.

No way. You have to look at a team when you played them too. Otherwise, USC losing to Oregon looks pretty bad, when in fact, Oregon was the best team in the conference with Dixon.

They were arguing if they were or weren't ranked at the time, and they were. Relevant!

Why couldn't Matt Flynn beat JR out if he was a better QB, more of a leader, better decision maker, had more heart, etc....
Let's say JR stays for his SR year, does Flynn beat him out because of his intangibles or does he transfer or ride the bench for his 5th year?
I will put my money on the guy who beat the other guy out fair and square and basically kept the other guy on the bench until he got hurt.
I love what Flynn did for LSU, I root for him to play for the Packers because I am in Viking country. I want him to have a long NFL career, make some good money, rep LSU, and be an ambassador for LSU football.
You guys kill me with this stupid _ss arguement. It continues to seem like the only reason this occurs, in my opinion, is because of race.
Give me either Hester or Scott, both Louisiana boys who stayed home to make us all proud of what they have done and continue to do.
