didn't flynn lose against two unranked teams?

and Jamarcus lost to the only team to beat florida that year, and florida, the eventual national champion...

so what now?

where's your argument?

but we didn't plan the scheme around russell. We ran the ball too many times, especially against Auburn, with no success.

Under both Russell and Davie, LSU was pass heavy offense. Auburn as anaomly and cost us a loss and possibly a shot at the NC.

russell threw 35 times in that game.

but when we ran a slow alley broussard or justin vincent, we got STUFFED.

the play calling killed LSU that day, and the refs were pretty harsh on us as well.

My big distinction betweem the two is that the coaches wouldn't plan an entire offensive scheme around Flynn's passing ability, but they did with Russell.

That because Russell's gameplan had to do with the talent of his team mates (also verified in Oak):
Russell - 1st rd
Bowe - 1st rd
Davis - 1st rd
Doucet - 3rd rd (59 catches for 772 yds 8 tds)
Hester - 3rd rd (709 all-purpose yds)

Flynn & teammates:
Flynn - 7th rd
Doucet - 3rd rd (57 catches for 525 yds and 5 tds )
Hester - 3rd rd (1,209 all-purpose yds)
Zinger - 7th rd

Yet offensively LSU soared in '07 with far less talent, weaker defensive support, and a tougher schedule

because they had hester to hand off to

we couldn't run the ball in 06 because of the oline and the running backs we threw out there. We were better at the end of the year with Williams at RB

bullshite on the schedule, even though it WAS tough, it was not tougher than 2006.

that is not even up for debate.

Not really, I agree the team is terrible but this is a make or break year for JR. He may be gone or riding the pine after this year.

Not really,

he was the youngest QB in the NFL and played damn well at the end of the season. They had some stats showing his QB rating compared to NFL greats 1st years and it was better than everyone but Elways

You're out of your mind. The only two positions where 2006 beats 2007 talentwise are QB and WR. 2007 OL >>>>> 2006 OL; 2007 RB >>>>>>>>> 2006 RB; 2007 TE >>>>>> 2006 TE.

Not to mention Crowton is much better than Jimbo.

And it isn't like Flynn was throwing to a bunch of nobodies. Doucet was a 3rd rounder; Lafell will be a 1st rounder; Dickson will be top 3 rounds; and Byrd should have been drafted (may still be if he is okay).

Put your money where your mouth is, if he is that caliber he will have a great year. This is his third year there should be no more excuses so why don't you draft him as your fanstasy QB

While he is big enough to play offensive line, he doesn't play offensive line. Until Raiders improve that there wont big any big leap in productivity.
