You can't really compare how they played in bowl game to that game. I mean Arkansas/LSU is sorta a half arse rivalry game. I mean they step up and for them that was their bowl game. They took more pride from winning that game than most.
I kind of agree with you, but you know as well as I do that LSU should have skull fricked arky that year.
as well as kentucky.
flynn started the kentucky game off like 7-24 or something awful.

Ohhhh... I get it now.
yeah, flynn's motor was always going strong and he was the smartest QB to grace LSU EVER.
Much smarter than that stupid JaMarcus kid...

notice the correlation between the Lee cheerleaders and these guys?
Those are YOUR words. YOU put them in YOUR mouth. Not me.

was making fun of DP40's dumb arse for saying JaMarcus was DUMB.
why would he say that?
even though JR made less mistakes than Flynn did?
what reasoning does he have?

again king ranter,
are you from the south?
are you from the south?

quote:Yes, it does. A game that many would insist LSU won despite Matt Flynn. And yet when a black QB puts up a similar performance, the commentary is:
the 07 bama game comes to mind...

but LSU NEVER won a game in spite of Jamarcus Russell
You are half right: there is a lot of racism in this thread.

Yeah LSU should have, but I mean since Les has been at LSU we have had those games. Everyone bashes Saban saying he lost games he shouldn't have. Does anyone remember Ole Miss? I mean JR had to win it last second, then Kentucky/Arkansas from 07.
Football season needs to start so some threads like this one can stop. Then people can go about second guessing the coaches, and blaming ref's for any mistake.

there are some that aren't objective at all, and like one player over another because of skin color, not talent.

Are you retarded?
Flynn had the best team in the country and played horribly against 7-6, ULM's bitch Bama. Not even close to the same thing.

All I wanna see is another JJ vs JL vs RS thread...
I wonder if most LSU fans know the last defensive coordinator we hired that tried taking a safety or corner and moving them to LB was Lou Tepper...
I just hope it works better the second time around... at least this dude has coached in SEC though.
ETA: No I did not compare Chavis and Tepper, I mentioned last defensive coordinator to do it. So don't get your panties in a bunch please?

quote:What reasoning would you assume he had if he said the same thing about Ryan Leaf and Peyton Manning in the pros? Presumably you would not assume racism then. Why must you assume it here? What reason do YOU have for distinguishing the idiotic arguments regarding two white players and the idiotic arguments regarding a white player and a black player?
why would he say that?
even though JR made less mistakes than Flynn did?

You are assuming racism because that is how you are seeing the people being discussed. You aren't seeing them as complete, full individuals, subject to the normal myriad of traits that create rational and irrational opinions alike in people's minds. You aren's seeing them as people who might have said something nice to a guy once which made him irrationally believe he was the best QB ever, or people who might have banged somebody's girlfriend once making him hate their guts forever, or someone who played for the same high school as somebody who wants to root for his fellow alumnus, etc., etc. No, all you see is a black guy and a white guy, and thus anything you deem "irrational" can only be motivated by racism.
Or maybe you don't. Maybe you are just reaching for the race card because you think by bludgeoning anyone who disagrees with you with the "racist" accusation, you can automatically win any argument. And that would be sad, too.

quote:Yes, there are. I also know that there are tons of people who aren't objective at all because of thousands of other reasons. But when you automatically reach for the same reason over and over, it gives a strong reflection of how you are seeing the people being discussed.

and if you don't think there is some sort of bias with about 5 different posters on here based solely on skin color, I don't know what to tell you.
did you even read the tojo quotes?
that kind of shite is so fricking ignorant.

quote:Umm, isn't one of your major arguments based on the fact that Flynn's '07 team was in fact no better than Russell's '06 team, just luckier? So how exactly does Flynn having "the best team in the country" become a factor when you basically are saying Russell had just as good a team?
Flynn had the best team in the country
quote:So 3 turnovers hurt in a game against a weaker opponent, but they aren't a big deal in a game against a stronger opponent?
and played horribly against 7-6, ULM's bitch Bama. Not even close to the same thing.
Begging your pardon, but I think you just arrived at my point; there were absolutely games where JaMarcus made mistakes that could very easily have cost us a loss if not for the outstanding performances of other players (like Addai or Randall). And I see where you edited your post to limit the "LSU NEVER won a game in spite of JaMarcus" to just his Junior year. And that is at least arguable. But that is just one year out of the three he started. And that year is why I think he is the best QB we've ever had. But it was simply absurd to suggest that we NEVER won a game in spite of his performance, as if that was something only Flynn was guilty of.

People don't get it. There is no statistical or logical reason for anyone to believe Flynn was a better QB at LSU than JR, but they find ways to think he is. There are a few reasons for this:
1. They are dumb
2. They are related to Flynn
3. They are Flynn
4. They like white people more than black people
Not necessarily racist all the time, but definite favortism for yo skin color dawg.
This is why this thread has turned dumb. Of course Doc agreed with the above statement too.
People gave their opinions and when they didn't jive with yours, you label them. That is prejudice defined.
You don't have to like differing opinions then yours, but resorting to hyperbole to rip people is why this thread has turned to the negative.
If you want to sniff JR's jock all your lives go ahead. I prefer to sniff none of them, but appreciate those who played hard, played smart, played to win, and accomplished more than they were capable of when they signed. I'd say Hester and Flynn are the best examples of that. Dorsey too. Of course, we could put quite a few in that definition, but the thread listed certain names.

quote:I don't know how many posters it might be, but I know you consistently categorize everyone who disagrees with you (or you even think is disagreeing with you) regarding a black player as racist. And that is basically just as irrational as the ignorant shite against which you are railing.

I didn't read any of this fwiw. Your earlier posts were so fricking terrible.
