1997: #1 florida comes in to tiger stadium, and loses 28-21. Although this victory didnt turn our program around, beating a #1 team for the first time was a major milestone for our program and put us on the map.
2003: NC year. Our program's only loss was florida, 19-7. Definitely a wake up call. We won every game afterwards.
2004: 24-21 LSU... grinding out an sec road win really helped our team that year when they didnt get off to a hot start at all.
2005: 21-17 LSU... jamarcus baby
2006: 23-10 Florida... Game killed our NC hopes and fueled floridas
2007: 28-24... needs no introduction, lsu football at its finest on the way to another NC that year
2008. 51-21 Florida.... losing to florida that badly really hurt our program's momentum at the time and sent our season spiraling downward
2010: 33-29 LSU.... Road game in the SEC after almost losing to a shitty tennessee team. A completely different team came out the next week vs florida in the swamp and beat urban meyer's gators. This win ignited the run lsu had in 2010-2011.
2011: 41-11 LSU... brad wing... enough said
2012: 14-6 Florida... game arguably killed our momentum from 2011 and ignited florida's which culminated a sugar bowl appearance
2014: 30-27 LSU... horrible start to season (blowout L's to MSU and Auburn) but turned things around in this road sec win decided by a last-second field goal. Team recovered and went on to go a respectable 8-4
2017: 17-16 LSU... ????
Overall record: 32-29-3 Florida... though LSU has been closing the gap slowly but steadily in recent years

I see a bunch of different outcomes that with a bunch of different seasons playing out different ways. What am I missing?

2009 was a really boring game.
2010 had the Fake FG.
Then there was last year's drama.

I've been following LSU-Florida since 1963! (that's 53 games between the two teams). What I notice is that the road team generally plays better than expected in these games. I don't know the overall record at home or on the road, but I suspect LSU has a better record vs Florida on the road than in Tiger Stadium.
