our line better be ready for the blitz's in this game. i know there has been some problems with the line commuication. it is the only thing that worries me in this match up. will.......will blitz to keep mett off balance. o and landry will have there usual game if we can manage the line correctly. if we do then it could be a long night for florida. but, the line i'm sure is practicing the scemes this week hopefully. cause i think we have found answers on the defense. mett will see more blitz's in this game then he has seen all year.

They will sack him if they blitz but will get beat more times then not if they do it all the time. Mett has become better at checking down to the backs when he in trouble too.

The line handles most blitzes okay; they miss a few, but our line's biggest weakness is handling stunts. They absolutely suck at blocking stunts.

UF might believe they are good enough to start off with a conventional defense, not blitz or load the box.

If proved wrong they would adjust from there, but I think that they believe they are good enough without gimmicks.

all of this.

the UF posters were saying earlier in the week that their D specializes in getting pressure from the front 4 more so than blitzing, so our boys might see a healthy dose of stunts.

Last year we did not have Cam Cameron. The bad news for Florida is that he has seen and coached with the ravens. He will have an answer

Can UF handle a true NFL pro style offense

I think UF better ready for Cam in all phases or will go home embarrassed.

Playing LSU too aggressive it a recipe for big plays and playing from behind...

this florida d-line will pressure mett w/o blitzing sometimes and will throw in a few blitzes also. i expect they will sack mett several times, maybe more. our right tackle is vulnerable to power rushes. as long as mett holds on to the ball an doesn't get injured we'll be fine.

This is still a line of scrimmage and defensive league. Not saying gators will win. Just reminding. Funny how the mad hatter continues to drive that hearse back from his funeral each time.

Not so sure where you get this conclusion. The defense isn't winning individual battles. Whether it be poor technique, coaching, or depleted talent, it usually doesn't just work itself out and I didn't see much improvement last week. Many of those second half defensive "plays" would have been TD's against better competion. Now we are playing a team with much more talent. This will be a close game.

Florida will not change up their defense drastically. They will play situational football and adapt from their. Watch out for DL #4 Damian Jacobs. He's a Louisiana kid from H.L. Bourgeois in Gray. He replaced their stud Easly. Their front 4 will get enough pressure. Cam will use the short passing game and misdirection to slow them down.

Not really sure how you reach this conclusion.

Will take more than Jacobs to replace Easley. Easley could do so much from just one player.

Florida is not much a blitz team. Shooting gap with quick DL-men along with it "Buck" LB-DE hybird player is the play. Stunts and twists to follow. While not a hybrid 4-3 type defense, it likes having the Buck player in different places.

I think Flordia is going to have to blitz a bit more to win this game. It will have to take those calculated chances to win on the road.

Agree. Easley is a special player. Even though he's on the opposing team I just wanted to point out a hometown kid. Damian is an absolutely great young man who has worked his butt off and I'm hoping the spotlight shines on him in an LSU blowout! GEAUX TIGERS

Because it seemed that Wr's were open. Passes were late. And the passes were defended. I don't believe those passes are that late against teams such as Alabama, Texas A&M, Georgia.....But if you think that the defense that gave up all those yards to Georgia and Mississippi State will shut down Florida then have fun screaming at the TV on Saturday.
