A few suggestions to sprinkle into your conversation:

1. Bert Jones is still worshipped in Baltimore.

2. I've been to Clemson several times, but now I can say I've been to the real Death Valley.

3. Now I understand why the really good places in Maryland fly in their crabs from Louisiana.

4. LSU's had a few players from Maryland over the years and it's been correlated with success. Mickey Mangham of Kensington, MD caught the only touchdown pass (from Billy Cannon!) in your win over Clemson in the Sugar Bowl for your 1958 National Champ team. David Jones from Silver Spring, MD was the tight end on your 2003 Championship team, and Patrick Fisher from DeMatha outside DC was your punter on the 2007 BCS Champs. Too bad that Barrington Edwards got into trouble and had to transfer.

5. Did you use Tony's to season this? When I get home, I'm throwing out my Old Bay.

6. How in the world is Maryland 3-0 all time against LSU? I am just glad we don't have to play you all this year.

7. How did you all put up with Crowton for so long? We're already getting tired of the bubble screens and redzone breakdowns.

Sweet!

terrapin, if you can't get a good spot by the stadium to watch the band come down the hill, be around the Indian Mounds about 2 hours before the game. The Golden Band from Tiger Land will march by on it's way to the hill. After the band passes, you can scootch in behind them and follow the band down yourself. You'll have a great perspective, then get to make your way down the hill yourself. Be part of it.

I would agree with everything posted here...I'd probably have to throw in some barbecue at TJ Ribs...damn good food and one hell of a game-day atmosphere...also, the place is loaded with LSU memorabilia...you can see Shaq's tennis shoes, etc....

Go to serrano's saturday night after the game. Good live band, excellent margaritas and plenty of good lookin sorority women. For one of your meals i suggest a shrimp cheeseburger from Raoul's which happens to be right next door to serrano's which is in the chimes area.

I wondered if that was the case. GTJ is @ Walkersville Friday night with both teams undefeated. Are you going to that?

Hope our Terp visitor has a good time in Baton Rouge.

eta: I just googled it and found that he played at St. Johns at Prospect Hall. So I guess Ego's favorite Terp hoops player was Juan Dixon, rather than Terrance Morriss.

I have two daughters who graduated from Walkersville High (in fact they both went to Glade, WMS, and WHS), and I may have gone to one game there because my oldest was in the band...

People were asking me to post after the LSU weekend....

Special thanks to the Usual Suspects and Parrotheads....absolutely great tailgates and better hospitality, could not have had a better time!

Spend Friday night at Chimes and late night on the porch at Slinky's

Early arrival at the parking lots and tailgates on Saturday. Hours after the game, we made our way to Walk On's and found a corner seat at the bar. Closed the place as we talked to great LSU fans all night. Amazing how friendly everyone was to us in Baton Rouge. Even met a few nice Gators who invited us to Gainesville for a game.

Spend Sunday walking the campus and checking out Mike. Filled our bags with LSU gear and headed home.

By far, the best away destination we have ever been too.....looking forward to returning to Baton Rouge.

Glad you had fun! Maybe you can make a night game next time, but a day game here is still better than any game most anywhere else
