First LSU game tips

I'm currently enrolled in LSU in a masters program online out of state and wanted to go to the LSU vs Alabama game.
Any tips on where to stay in Baton Rouge, tailgating ideas, restaurants to eat at, etc.
I was also thinking of spending the first part of that week in NOLA. How long does it take to drive from NOLA to Baton Rouge?

They refurbished the old dorm rooms in Tiger Stadium to be hotel rooms during football season. They’re probably booked..but you should give them a call.
