Final Play messed up by OC & QB

According to Miles postgame they sent in new personnel with 1 play and they should have sent in 2 plays. (error OC) He also says once they have it called they have a hard time getting it snapped. (error QB) Isn't it ironic these are the two people that really need to be replaced.

From watching, I'm still not understanding how that is any bit Jefferson's fault.
There was mass freaking confusion. Jefferson had no clue what was going on, and that was no fault of his own. The stupid idea to make 3 subs like that further confused everyone.
Jefferson can't make guys lineup in there positions in a timely fashion, that's on the coaches.
I thought JJ simply did what the coaches told him to do.
I guess the question is, how could JJ have handled it better?

The people responsible for getting the playcall to Jefferson should have been signalling furiously for him to spike the ball the whole time. Did anyone else think it looked like JJ might have had his bell rung a little bit on that play?

Completely disagree. He should have called 2 plays in the huddle.
Call the QB keeper and a run to Ridley. After the keeper gets stuffed, we know exactly what we're running and could be on the line of scrimmage probably with :20 or so, :15 at the worst, and easily get off 1 more play.

There was nothing JJ could do time running no play called and subs coming in and out. Basically a cluster frick caused by the coach.

Exactly.
I'm trying to find a spot where JJ could have done "better" and I'm just not seeing it.
For all the shittiness he was responsible for in that game, none of it came in the final 30 seconds, IMO.

JJ should have snapped the play that was signaled in to him. According to Miles it took a while for it to get in but it did.

How does one do that when no one seems to know what that play is, and it obviously took wayyyyy too long to call?
You can't snap a play when you don't know what the play is.

it was absolute chaos, and none of the chaos was on jefferson. He has to has his offense set before he can snap the ball.

...then lead the team and clock it. You cant just put this on staff. The qb (field general) plays a part in it as well.

No one is set. If the team is looking to the sidelines to get a playcall, and Jefferson starts yelling at them calling something different, that would lead to more confusion and end up taking longer to do.

I am definitely putting this solely on the staff.

Not when he's trying to get a play from the coach. His job is to get a play from the coach, plain and simple. If we run out of time in the process, he can't be blamed for that. And like I said above, 2 different people barking out 2 different plays would only make matters worse.

It is Miles fault, he should have had JJ spike the ball with 20 seconds left and then call a play in a huddle without all the confusion of subs running in and out of the game with the clock running down.

There should never have been any substitutions. The team was lined up and looking for a play with 20 seconds left.

This was primarily the coaches fault, but JJ needs to line up and spike it with no more than 8 seconds left. He can't just let the clock run all the way out.

JJ is supposed to a Junior and a leader on this team. He should have hurried them up and called a qb sneak on his own. He should have hurried up got them down and just went in. Goosd QBs understand the situation and call their own plays if 2 weren't sent in on the previous play.

Easily "fixed."Put Crowton on the sidelines and JJ on the bench.Give Miles a deck of cards and the three of them can play cards while the game is being played. All major problems with offense addressed and solved.

Even most HS QBs would have enough awareness or the urgency to get everyone back to the line and a) spike the ball tvo stop the clock or b) run a play

I'm sure he would have if there weren't new players running in & out.
Gotta give Jefferson credit for waiting for our subs to get off the field & give credit to all the players for being set at the snap of the ball in that total confusion.
The players handled a chaotic situation given to them by the coaches as best they could.

Let's not forget the total confusion by our coaches on 4th down a minute earlier. Delay of game and then a timeout to stop another one from being called? Weak. Very weak.
I don't fault the players. This has been going on for years. Whether it was Russel, Flynn, Hatch, Lee, or Jefferson under center.
They are the variables. We know who the constants are...

Honestly how can you blame JJ when The coaches send him in with 1 play called.....Then they do a mass sub with 3 wr's obviously they were passing wouldn't lee come back on. That set anybody up who was behind center to look like an idiot...Sad part is if LSU lost the talk would have been how jj mismanaged the game at the end, les would have let jj take the fall,,,,If I was JJ and Lee is goin to be the man I'd transfer to another school. Les and co would make drew brees look like a scrub.
