LSU needs to come out and say that our invitation to host Texas still stands regardless of what either the SEC or Big 12 says.

Get out in front of the situation, pressure UT into accepting or looking scared. This game is too special to let go.

How would we then explain away the other games without admitting that it's all about money?

This.

I really wish the conferences like big10 and pussy12
Would just come out and say, it’s about money.

Austin is closer to BR than Gainesville or Columbia and the same distance as Auburn. No logistical reason to cancel.

SEC can tell UF and USCe what to do. They can't tell UTa what to do. Basic governance logic.

frick them, CocksNotGlocks fruitcakes. Also they had a pretty significant bandwagon following in SW La. when they were winning in the Mack Brown era

But it’s not about the money with Texas, it’s about the arse whooping that needs to be properly administered.

Oh, it is VERY much about the money. That is a marquee non-conf. game that LSU is going to miss out on the expected huge financial benefit by not being able to play it in front of a packed Tiger Stadium. People bitch about the neutral site games (and, at times, I have been one of them). But the benefit of those is that BOTH teams get a nice payday for agreeing to play them. In a home-and-home situation such as the LSU/Texas series, only the HOME school reaps the financial benefits from that agreement.

Texas had a packed stadium last year in one of the most anticipated OOC games they've had in a few years. From a financial standpoint, LSU playing Texas in front of a 1/2 or (maybe) even 1/3 full Tiger Stadium is worthless. If the SEC is canceling all non-conf. games, then the fight for LSU should be to get the home game vs. Texas back on the books in the next few years when it can be played in front of a full Tiger Stadium. NOT, to play it this season. There is no need to waste that game's financial benefit in a year where it is going to be severely diminished due to the Covid limitations.

From a fan standpoint I hate to see this (on-going) ridiculous overreaction take that game away this season. But (if possible) it's better to push it to a normal season where 100,000+ can fill Tiger Stadium to watch

Without fans might as well cancel it
Make Texas give us a home game down the line

Even if we do not have a game. Force them to come sit in the visitors' locker room with no AC, park a mile away and walk through a crowd of us yelling at them, and the band has to walk to the top of Tiger Stadium a minimum of 3 times with instruments in hand.

All while 3rd and 17 plays on repeat.
