IMO this article was written as much to praise AL and GA as to critique LSU. About the only thing the guy said that was factual is that you don’t need an elite class to win a NC. LSU won a NC without having what the recruiting guru claimed was an elite class yet that team is one of the most acclaimed group of NFL draftees ever. Wonder what happened along the way? Maybe CK knows what an elite class is better than the recruiting gurus.

Clemson’s first NC team had an average ranking of 13. Clemson has never had what this guy claims is an elite class, yet they played in 3 recent NCG winning at least one.

What is important is gettin a top ten class, keeping and developing them and out coaching the other coaches in a game. The latter is AL and GA’s Achilles Heel.

I think the article was very fair and I agree with most of it. It hits the current situation. However, in two years anything short of the CFP will leave fans most dissatisfied.

We started beating Bama 50% of the time four years ago.

We can’t look at recruiting the same as before. If he fills out 35-39 total players with several 4*dline and olinemen, LSU will be better for it.
