He knows that building a program takes some time, even with NIL. He also knows that at the level of investment he was given, he has none of the slack and built-in excuses he’s had at previous stops.

You can be loose as the underdog, but when you’re expected to win every game that you’re 60-70% favored in without fail, and you’re given a blank check to remove excuses, that piles on pressure. He’s never had to deal with that as a head coach.

I have faith that he’ll build a monster here, but LSU is not a fun place when it’s not running at top form.
