A new rule was made in the 5 for 5. Players sued months ago and won a TRO. Alright cool, so a TRO was issued in favor of the kids with no opinion on what the courts deemed a pro athlete or not. Only thing they ruled on is that kids from the class of 2022 are eligible to come back and play a 5th year.

At this time we had some kids that signed contracts and some that did not. There was no official rule on the books for the SEC after this TRO was given because it literally just got ruled on.

AFTER the TRO, the SEC then decides that if a contract was signed by a player, then that player is not eligible to come back because the SEC deems the player to be an "NFL pro athlete".

The league presidents get together to vote on the new rules. LSU votes yes on this rule 16-0. A vote was then made on the penalties if this rule is broken. LSU abstained from voting, which is not a yes or a no for those braniacs.

After this is voted on, the kids then included the SEC in their lawsuit restricting their ability to play if a contract was signed. It goes to court and the players win the injunction against the NCAA and the SEC.

This ruling is fine but the SEC penalties that were voted on were put into place to punish the school and not the kid as a work around. They say that you cannot roster and play a player they deem ineligable or the school and coach will face XYZ penalties.

LSU then submits their roster and does not include any kids on the roster that would be in violation of the new rule.

What the frick am I missing here? The claim that we recruited "pro athletes" to come back? There was literally no designation of what was considered pro or zero proof that i have seen that LSU was even recruiting them and the claim can be made LSU was working off the assumption any kid from 2022 class would become eligible.

What legal leg do they have to stand on to say we have lost institutional control? Is something else going on? Honest question, not this Sankey and Birmingham have it out for LSU. Why would the SEC be acting like this and making such claims on a founding member school that has the most national championships in the mens big 3 sports than any other SEC school in the last 25 years (nationally as well!). And this does not even include the national championships in woman's bball, track and field, gymnastics and golf!
