1. Espn would like the BCS to experience issues regarding the MNC game. IT gives the talking heads ammo and it's good for ratings.

2. Espn and the rest of the media that is not in the gulf states would love the Traditional powers of decades ago to dominate Why I don't know.

3. Espn has several gumps in it's employment. And Les made one their own look like a fool.

4. Espn hates LSU. It's real. It's not their motivation but rather an enjoyed bi product of their agenda. (ratings)

LSU is the only Division 1 football program where it is easy to win and easy to recruit.

How many Elite teams have no other state competition for players? Unless you consider ULM, ULL, LA Tech, Tulane, and SELU competition for best players in the state.

Right, 250 yards of total offense is impressive. My bad.
Scoreboard, game not in doubt, etc.... Many of the voters only look at boxscores or highlights on ESPN

It's still foolish to say it's 'easy' to win and recruit at LSU. You still have Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Texas, Texas AM, Arkansas, etc..to recruit against. It isn't 'easy' to win anywhere. Yet, at LSU, winning is considered easy.

LSU has an advantage many other BCS teams in that there is no state competition for recruits. Louisiana produces as many Division 1 players as some of the bigger states and has plenty of talent. LSU has the advantage, other school may come into the state but that doesn't mean LSU still does not have an advantage.
Huge difference in have another states school come here rather than a state school. For one families ties could be split, then you get to see more than one team/hear/read about both teams, there is no loyalty.

Eh I wouldn't go there because you could say the same thing about a few LSU games

I understand LSU has an advantage with regards to no other in-state competition, but that doesn't mean it's easy to recruit. If it was easy... then schools like Texas, Michigan, Florida State, and Florida, would not have raided our best talent in the 90s.

That happened because LSU sucked arse and was not an attractive place to play. Just like now that Michigan is losing players are hitting up Ohio State and other places.

Granted, the McNeese State game was just pure D shite, but with all due respect, let's give Boise State and TCU LSU's schedule and see how many of the teams they blow out. They might finish with the same record, but I seriously doubt they'd be blowing Florida, Bama, MSU, etc. out.

I would be willing to place a $1,000 bet on a serious handshake that neither TCU nor Boise would beat Auburn this year, so we can throw that one out.

The Top 25 players in the state of Michigan only 5 have committed to Michigan so far... 5 are uncommitted and only 3 of the Top 10 are going to Michigan.

Could you imagine the backlash if that happened at LSU?

1) As you mentioned, some of those "close wins" are against quality teams.

2) Those teams don't make it a habit of winning close games, while LSU does.

When has LSU been impressive?
Defense and special teams have been impressive throughout the season. When we beat MSU 29-7 no one thought that was an impressive win but that is their worst loss of the year. We dominated UF on the road but mistakes and turnovers kept them in the game. Any win over Bama is impressive... What is the difference between winning 21-10 or 51-40. Everyone thinks huge offensive output means good team. That is not the case. A good team is one that can win any game and can make plays in all three phases of the game. LSU is that kind of team. Also, LSU has been in the top tier of the SEC for the last 8 years and have had the target on our backs. We get everyone's best shot and every team we play is looking to make a statement by beating one of the big boys.

That's my point. These ESPN pundits are quick to point out the games LSU "should have lost," but fail to do the same for today's media darlings like Oregon and Boise.

But you DO say this about LSU. Why does Oregon get off easy?

How many games "should Oregon have lost?"

How many games "should Boise have lost?"

How many games "should LSU have lost?"

Sure, but having an offense ranked in the 90s and at some points in the 100s makes the team look bad.

Maybe now we are, but earlier in the year we were not. Besides, we are ranked 6th, so it isn't like voters think we are some crappy but lucky team.

Yes. I first noticed this visceral hate when many of the ESPN pundits actively campaigned for LSU to get the NC spot in 2007.
