Expecting Magic with QB development - Without a QB Coach - LSU of all places?

LSU Football is known for 3 things above all else:
1) Great Defense
2) Most NFL players of any University
3) Frustrating QB performance over a very long timeframe.

Not having a QB should be assessed as craziness by anyone with any semblance of a brain, non?

Even the biggest "I'm a fan all the time, no matter how silly the decisions are, homer" will surely agree.

Is there room to get a QB coach and developer on the staff?

And don't tell me Ensminger is going to excel at OC and also be sufficient as a strong QB coach.

LSU NEEDS A QB COACH MORE THAN ANY FOOTBALL TEAM IN THE UNIVERSE.

Is there a plan yet to be announced, or are we going to look foolish again?

I think Ensminger can have positive input into QBs, even if his official title does not imply such.

quote:

Ensminger, 59, is expected to work alongside LSU consultant and longtime NFL receivers coach Jerry Sullivan, who is expected to be given a significant role in the offense. Sullivan's exact title is unclear, but he is likely to have a heavy hand in the Tigers' passing game.

quote:

In 1992, Sullivan moved to the professional coaching ranks with the NFL San Diego Chargers. He remained Chargers wide receivers coach until 1996. He then became the Detroit Lions wide receivers coach from 1997 to 2000. Starting in 2001, he was wide receivers coach with the Arizona Cardinals for two-seasons before being promoted to offensive coordinator for the 2003 NFL Season.[5] Sullivan then became the Miami Dolphins wide receivers coach in 2004 and from 2005 to 2010 he was the San Francisco 49ers wide receivers coach. From 2012 to 2016, he was the Jacksonville Jaguars wide receivers coach.[6]

Yes they absolutely do need a QB Coach. However, with this management, I worry it'll be the "Hope and Pray" strategy...

there's absolutely nothing in his history to suggest anything of the sort. its why hes been the TE coach for 8 years. he used to be a QB coach, and kept getting fired.

the title means little, look at the info on my post above regarding Sullivan....

the combination of the two could pay off.

Don't worry. Ensminger is widely known for his development of quarterbacks.

LSU has a QB coach. Not sure why people keep posting that LSU doesn't have a QB coach.

If you are not happy with the QB coach, then please post that. But your post is factually incorrect.

To be fair, a couple of his firings were complete staff firings after the head coach lost his job.

This stuff isn't that hard to find.

1984–1986 McNeese State (OC/QB)
1988–1990 Louisiana Tech (OC/QB)
1991–1993 Georgia (QB/PGC)
1994–1996 Texas A&M (OC/QB)
1997–1998 Clemson (OC/QB)
2003 Auburn (QB)
2016 LSU (OC/QB)
2018–present LSU (OC/QB)

ETA: Downvote for pure laziness.
