BTW I am surpised no one has brought up how we pay to watch our offense stay in park for 3 hours, so why not have to pay to park for a tailgate.

Everything works in colleges by supply and demand. If I can see you a widget for $10 but Joe, your neighbor, needs the widget and is willing to pay $30 for it, guess who is going to buy my widget ? There will always be a supply of 90,000 + fans at Tiger Stadium for big home games. It doesn't matter if the majority of these fans are rich Chinese or come from poverty stricken backgrounds. If the price of their product at LSU can generate revenue to hire above average coaches, then you have to accept the University's position to raise the cost until the supply is in equalibrium with the demand side. Maximizing revenue or profits help create opportunities to build facilities and bring in recruits which in turn create an atmosphere for more winning which keeps interest in the programs viable.
In theory, there is no free lunch. someone must pay for services. everything has a cost or opportunity cost assigned to it. When the supply side of fans goes significally down, so will the value of a ticket. It is life but it happens in the greatest country the world has or will ever know...ours.
