Crowton was OC in 2010. Stud in 2011. Our O didn't do much in 2011 against Bama (either game). The rest of the team was so dominant and mentally tough in the first game that we won. We'll have a great D next year and have more movement/creativity on O. A 5th YR SR Etling might be able to pull it off. Until I see otherwise, he's our best option. I wouldn't mind having someone else (Harris, Narcisse) get some drives to give a different look and spread out the hits on the QB but we can't just throw those guys in the game w/o experience earlier in the year.

I agree with the OP 100%. Why ignore facts?

Really???
We've played them down to the wire in 3 of the last 5 match ups. Coaching was a major factor in 2 of those and arguably all 3.

Here's Herb Tyler's opinion on who he feels should start at QB next season, an excerpt follows:
In Tyler’s mind, there’s one way to fix that: opportunity. No one quarterback, from incumbent starter Danny Etling to Harris vying for his old job to any of the players behind them on the depth chart, should get all the coaches’ focus.
“If you don’t give the guys an opportunity, you’re doing an injustice to yourself,” Tyler said. “You’re only playing with a few pieces of the puzzle.”
One of the major puzzle pieces Tyler said he thinks is going unplayed with is freshman Lindsey Scott Jr.
In a lot of ways, Scott is a spitting image of Tyler from when he was in school. Both are Louisiana natives, Tyler from New Orleans and Scott from just north of Baton Rouge in Zachary. Both are a bit undersized; Tyler was 5-foot-10, and Scott is 5-11. And both were dual-threat high school stars who committed to LSU late in their recruiting process.
But Tyler said he sees more than himself in Scott. In Scott, Tyler said he sees qualities comparable to Clemson quarterback and two-time Heisman Trophy finalist Deshaun Watson.
“He has the qualities that only few can possess, and that’s the qualities of relentlessness, leadership, understanding, and he’s just flat out electric,” Tyler said.
“He has to get an opportunity. I’ll tell you right now: Including Danny Etling, including Brandon Harris, I think that kid has too much of an upside and that he can be really, truly be successful in the right kind of an offense to where he can be that Deshaun Watson type of cat.”
Still, Etling is LSU’s starter. And Tyler doesn’t have any problem with the way Etling played last season or the way interim offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger handled him. He just thinks there should be a bigger emphasis on competition among those players who haven’t yet received their opportunities.
That doesn’t include Harris.

There is also much more on Harris and the two freshmen LSU QBs coming in if you click on the link.

The QB that's wins/earns the starting job should start every game.

If Etling was mobile I would say hell yeah he should start vs Bama.
Playing 10 on 11 offense to defense is a death nail vs Bama.
Just my opinion.

Desean Watson, Cardale Jones, and Chad Kelley have set up a blueprint for beating Alabama.

Bama will get pressure on the QB from the DL.
With a pocket passer has to able to throw like Joe Montana or be able to scramble and throw the ball or run the ball.
Etling just can't from pressure like Mettenberger.
