2. LSU at Texas, Sept. 7

Texas is back! Coach O is redeemed! Let us all rejoice! Until someone loses this game, and then -- hoo boy -- time to shut down social media.

In all seriousness, this will be one of the most attractive nonconference matchups in 2019, given the way both teams finished the bowl season.

Both sides return quarterbacks with impressive bowl performances in Sam Ehlinger and Joe Burrow, and though LSU loses several talented players on defense, that unit should still be among the saltiest Texas will play next season.

College football's most anticipated games for 2019

Texas has like 9 total starters returning. Only 2-3 of which are on defense.

This game shouldn't be close.

Notre Dame is so gay...they're not even in a conference.

This is how melts happen. It’s on the road early in the year against what should be a top 10 team. The intangibles alone will ensure this is a close game. Expect some stress.

They're going to be ranked in the top 10 because they're a media darling. Don't allow their performance in the Sugar Bowl to overshadow the fact that they loss 4 games this year and are losing a massive amount of impact players.

Few other programs that lose 4 games in a season and then go on to lose most of the starters would come back ranked in the top 10 the following year.

That and they return an absolute baller at QB.

Sucks how people have let the fun get sucked out of college football like this...

It's foolish to think that Texas won't be a good team next year or that playing them on their home field won't be a challenge.

That said, the media is completely overrating NEXT YEAR'S team based upon THIS YEAR'S team's bowl performance. There are a lot of pieces from the team that won the Sugar Bowl who won't be on next year's team. Particularly on defense.

Hell, you could argue that the 2019 LSU Tigers beat UCF in light of the fact that neither Greedy nor Alexander played in the game. Other than White, (likely) the defense that was on the field vs. UCF is in many ways the same defense that will be on the field vs. Texas (if not better).

On offense, the only losses for LSU seemingly aren't premier players (Brosette was solid, but by no means spectacular. Same for Brumfield and Moreau)

Meh...if LSU is trending the way we think and expect it to, Texas should run into a monster and get destroyed...it should take a extremely stout team to beat us in 2019, and a Texas team that's returning so little doesn't sound that stout. They'll get a ton of hype, though.

I'm very ready for LSU to start aspiring for greatness again.

Austen is the quietest stadium I’ve ever been. Texas fans, and big 12 fans overall....just ain’t that into it. That being said there’s a beer garden about 2 blocks from the stadium that shouldn’t be missed......

Apparently LSU is the only team that loses players. Texas loses more than half of it's offensive and defensive starters.

Expecting a Miami type beat down.

We are only losing Greedy, Alexander, Foster, Nick, and Brumfield.

Greedy is replaced by Stingley, Alexander by an emerging Kary Vincent, we are possibly worse without Foster at TE, Emery and Ty Davis come in for Nick, and Kardell for Brumfield.

Can't see us allowing more than 17 points this game and I expect this to be the Joey Big Balls Burrow's coming out party for the 2019 season and maybe getting some Heisman buzz hopefully.
