LSU has been at its best with a smart leader under center(not great athletes): Mauck/Flynn.
Reason Team sport. Your in trouble if you always need somthing special from a qb. Two minute drill, clock management, and reading defenses are the relms of smart qb's Kilmer got to the superbowl floating the ball.

Whatever. None of that makes me feel any better that Lee can't beat out Hatch.
Hatch realistically shouldn't even be in the discussion about starting QB at LSU.

I don't think the original poster was questioning the coach. If Hatch is the best we have he is obviously going to be the starter. I think he was just pointing out that a transfer from Harvard whose only offers out of high school were BYU, until Crowton was fired, and Ivy League schools probably has no business being a starter in the SEC....and the fact that he will probably start for us doesn't make him feel very good about the other QBs on the roster.

That was already proven to be false earlier in this thread.
so? the point really is that hatch was a true freshman on a team that is able to send a qb to the NFL.

How many stars did Dalton Hillard have coming out of high school? ZERO, he was only offered by LSU and some other small Louisiana colleges. The rest is LSU History.

That doesn't make any sense at all.
Using that logic we just as easily could have gotten a 4th team QB from Alcorn State, Grambling, Morehead State, or Milton College to lead our team this year.
