Yeah, for your part of the country there really isn't a reason to have heard about ASU. We tend to play schools in the South and also DIV I-AA across the country. Unless you keep-up w/ DIV I-AA in your local area (Youngstown State), again you probably wouldn't have seen us (playoffs?).

We do show-up in a lot of the surveys you see about best education for the cost. Regional school stuff too.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not at all disappointed about the UM game. It's just that's all you hear out of our homers. That win is only a vehicle to promote the University in general and our FB program in particular.

I saw where one of our posters made a comment about increased applications. ASU was growing at a rapid pace before the UM game, we are constrained by $$ because land suitable for large buildings is limited in our area. We really do have to move mountains!

I read/heard someone say, no alumni ever rallied around an English class.

How damn hot is tiger stadium gonna be at 4 in the afternoon on Aug 30th? The seats will fry your arse. I feel sorry for the players. LSU should have told ESPN to go eat shite and die.

Yeah, I think you guys would have had to do that. At your stadium and your school is so much larger than ours. Let the guys play at a team that is reasonable for the players and the fans. As another favorite coach of mine says "it is what it is".

One thing I think we can all agree on is this game will end the boredom for all of us. I know you guys are ready to get on with your season and so are we. I won't be able to make the trip but I think the estimate is about the same number that attended the UM game last year, approx 3,000-5,0000. I understand our band is not planning on attending but I think something may be in the works to make that happen.

Totally agree. I think this will be why LSU wins big. Their starters will be dying after about a quarter on the field. We have plenty of depth for rest.

I believe that Miles is painting this as a must win

I would hope that he is painting this picture for every game. Not just one against a AA team

It's going to be insanely hot. Africa hot.

If LSU doesn't win this game the season is blown.

It's that important.

Yeah, we could recover, like Michigan did, but we have ZERO reason to ever get close to that possibility. And that's why it's a semi scary game and I can't wait.

Enjoy if you're coming down here for the game APP folks. You will find the fans love to impress you. And they can.

It's a no win situation as far as the game goes.

If we lose : Forget the season. We could go onto win every single game after that but it doesnt matter because we lost to Appy State.

If we win : Congrats we just beat a 2A team...next year lets schedule a girl scout troop.

App is I-AA not II.

LSU stomps us = People will say that was expected and they shouldn't have run-up the score.

LSU beats us by a little = People will say ASU kept it close and LSU should not have had that much difficulty handling us.

LSU loss = LSU will recover a finish near the top but with the BCS voting system, will never be repeat NCS.

You need to win by a respectable margin (14-21 pts?) without giving the press any ASU highlight clips they'll show over and over again.

Ha! Interesting that you would say something like that since we've already covered that ground in previous discussions. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.....

That was the first thing you thought of so I can only assume that you do. I don't have any cousins so therefore I could never do what you suggest. Every time one of you guys post inane comments it forces us (ASU) to continue to stay on your boards.

Ok, ok if this helps you go to sleep tonight. ASU is so bad we shouldn't have a football team. In fact we should back out of the LSU game using the "Duke Defense". Our students are illiterate and probably couldn't graduate from one of your High Schools. We are a cupcake game and our team and fans will immediately roll-over as soon as the game starts. We're not worthy to look at, much less step on the campus of, a BCS school. You shouldn't spend a minute preparing, let alone thinking about, the game.

However, we both know that given the UM game (I'm throwing-up because I'm so sick of hearing about that game myself) you have to prepare and take time from games that will really count. That's our gift to you and we'll take your $$.

first of all, thank you for clarifying who "us" is, otherwise i would never know . Second, you are saying that if we stop talking about you you will leave? DEAL!!

FINALLY!! one of you ASU fans face reality!

well, 5 minutes is time, so that will work!

I really wish you could actaully see reality.

I don't think any ASU fan has come here and said ASU is going to beat LSU. UM ran a completely different offense than LSU. One of the reasons to run a spread offense is to balance the difference in size between two teams. LSU runs a completely different scheme that emphasizes speed. However, don't expect any of us to come in wringing our hands about playing LSU. We are winners, not losers. We may get beat but we won't lose. Now, go to sleep with your thoughts you don't have anything to worry about.
