Over the last 10-15 years it seems as most major teams have acquired 18 wheelers with customized paint jobs for the road games. When I was at LSU I worked with the equipment manager and we used a small uhaul box truck with plenty of room for all of the equipment.

Anyone here know if they now need that amount of space now or is it just marketing the brand

1980. I wasn't there in an official capacity. I just helped out for the fun of it. Stan Harris was a buddy of mine at the time.

Did you have to change the shoes on the horses?

LSU has had an 18 wheeler for a long time. We prob use another rental truck for extra shite for big/lomg road games and for bowl games as well. I know for sure we have an 18 wheeler with custom paint lol. LSU has a much or more than any other program in the nation. Idk why some people think LSU is poor and doesn't have capital. We are one of the richest and most lucrative football programs in than he country. Our program is second to none in every facet.

Thats just one of the unheard things that lsu has that peoole dont know about. Come on man. You know what I mean lol. We have all of the resources you could possibly imagine or need. That's why our fans demand success, because there is everything you need to win big here. The support and resources LSU has at its disposal are top-notch and first-class in every capacity. Geaux tigers.

In the mid to late 90’s I am pretty sure they were still using multiple uhauls driven by managers. I don’t think the 18 wheeler showed up until Saban’s tenure.

I didn't work in the equipment room but one of my best friends did at the same time that you were there. His initials are TG and I met GS through him.

I was friends with one of the managers back then. Didn’t 3 or 4 guys get to fly and the rest rode in the trucks?

A lot of NFL teams do this for road games. Still surprised Nike hasn’t gotten them 18 wheelers and use it as advertising.

2 guys flew. A couple of guys stayed home. 2 guys drove the Ryder truck. The rest rode with the trainers in either a van or charter bus depending on the length of the trip.

Yeah, I knew both those guys. TG was definitely the cooler of the two. Had some really fun parties over in teakwood back then.
