Yup. And when LSU embarassed UGA in their backyard, what did the media turn their focus on?
USC's trouncing of a 6 or 7 win (can't remember exactly) Oregon State team where USC's "top 10" defense gave up nearly 500 yards of offense at home.
You know, exactly like Doc's picture on pages 2 and 5 where Bama beats a shitty Auburn team in the same fashion LSU and others have, but yet Bama's win "means more" and was "much more impressive".
The narrative is ridiculous, hypocritical, but oh so predictable.

Well, I am glad that it got bumped because I didnt see it first time posted. I have to agree that "IF" LSU played Alabama's schedule that we would not be #2 right now. Not without a LOT of moving parts from other teams' wins and losses. Hell, for that matter.....I think that if Alabama beat us on 05 November, that we would have fallen to at least #3 or as low as #4. Then with OSU winning that big against OU, we would NEVER be seeing the BCSNCG.
Either way, I agree that Bama is the #2 team in the nation. I am more than happy to see LSU beat them 2 times in 1 season and bring home the Crystal Ball....... But I do think that it was unfair to OSU, based of past arguments, that they didnt make the big game.

The media would have brought back the "you must win your conference" arguement to protect Bama from the rematch, especially if they thought Bama could lose to us the second time.

Yes indeed. I have to agree with you. I can not believe the amount of it that is going around the BCS. Kinda would like to see T. Boone Pickens try to get an investigation. If, for nothing more, to try and get those damn algorithms for the BCS computers so someone can explain them or at least but a "governing committee" over each of them.
I for one (I know I am not alone) cant wait for the EPIC MELTDOWN that will come when LSU wins its 3rd in a row over Alabama and Nick Saban.

Here is a quick summary of the weakest resume in BCSNCG history:
1) Only one of two teams to finish third in their conference and make the title game (2001 Nebraska was the other....Nebraska was still living off of the hype from their mid-90s teams)
2) Only 2 wins over top 20 teams
3) Bama beat a whopping THREE teams with a winning record.
Those points above have "entitled/media darling" written all over it.

Hell, look at what happened in 2004 after we lost our first game by 1 point on the road. We dropped like a rock. So much for the "respect" given to the defending champ.

2003 Cal beat VA Tech, barely, in its bowl game. Both teams were at best, average. Cal was an unranked, six loss team, so the point remains. But it's important that you fix your stats because arguments become, to most readers, weaker even if an inconsequential point is incorrect.

Think we ended up 7-1 top 25 teams that year counting the BCSNCG and the runner up, tOSU, only beat 4-1......so our "RESUME" still looked a helluva lot better than the #1 tOSU at the time of the game. So, what argument do you have there??

Pretty sure that I heard Saban say more than once that they lost in OT and not in Regulation. Dont think Les Miles got a spot on College Gameday and got to talk about how he thought Bama deserved the shot over OSU, then he ranked them 4th on his ballot.....no biased there.

We are not "scared" of you as almost all of the Bama posters here seem to believe. If LSU played Bama 10 times, what would the result be honestly?? Can you honestly say that Bama would win 50% of the time?? I cant say that they would. What about LSU or Bama vs OSU or anyone else in the country?? That I can put a finger on as EITHER of the 2 teams winning the vast majority of the time.
One of my best friends is a die hard Bama fan, we have been talking about a rematch since 05 Nov happened. We are not scared of BAMA......AT ALL!! I WANT BAMA!! Cant wait to beat you 2 times in one year!!
