Who to email at LSU.

Bonnette would be a good start.

Addressing Gannett directly?

Gannett is the parent company for many local newspapers...in addition to owning USA Today. Daily Advertiser in Lafayette and Shreveport Times are Gannett papers. Guilbeau is employed by them, which is why his article is syndicated in all Louisiana Gannett owned papers and if there is an LSU national story will likely be seen in USA Today. Gannett isn't married to this tool. If they felt they'd be better off without him, they'd drop him.

I would be happy to boycott anyone that advertises with them.

Please don't do that. Most people don't follow this and are not placing ads with this in mind. I, as a buyer and an LSU fan, happen to be in a position to know how badly most LSU fans fricking hate this guy, and refuse to place client ads in papers designed to get LSU readership because I think they turn to venues that do not choose to use Guilbeau as their guy, and because I don't want clients of mine associated with shitty articles that are openly anti-LSU.

I think Guilbeau is a good writer FWW. He is no different than Paul Finebaum. Everyone thinks that Guilbeau is obligated to be an LSU fan because he writes for a paper in the state of Louisiana. He's paid to gain ratings and that's exactly what he does. Some of you just expect every sports writer in the world to jerk off to LSU 24/7/365. Want to make it stop? Don't read his articles...

Judging by this thread and other responses, Guilbeau is a master level troll. A little more work and he can receive his doctorate and practice alongside Skip Bayless and Cowherd.

Some do, others like myself don't. The problem as I see it is that he's the beat writer assigned to LSU by Gannett which happens to own the dailies in both Shrevport and Lafayette and also USA Today. In other words, when there is an article to be written about LSU (which is daily in both of those state papers) this guy writes it. Think of some of the great writers that have come and gone from Times Pic. It was possible to write challenging and at the same time not completely alienate the exact reader they were hoping to continue a relationship with. With Guilbeau, it's all piss and vinegar all the time. The only reason to read Guilbeau as an LSU fan is simply to see in what way he's called out the program today.

Without a doubt. I'd also add that if you're in a position to advertise with a Gannett paper, stop doing so and tell them why. Ad rev is what it's all about.

Mr. Guilbeau,

Your “columns” over the years have made it very clear that you are not an LSU fan, but this “column” really goes way over the line. And the above “column” should really be labeled as an editorial or opinion piece. You have called two judges incompetent so good luck if you ever in any trouble in Baton Rouge after this column. Les Miles is a class person (although you have also made it very clear that you are not a fan of his either) so it is unlikely that he will correct the ridiculous assumptions that you made (Such as “LSU coach Les Miles said the team voted him back on unanimously, and if he would not have won the election he would not be back. Really? He didn’t tell you that anyone who dissented who wasn’t a starter would be suspended.” Really really?? You are that screwed up?) Accountability, Mr Guilbeau, is important in all aspects of life, even in whatever the above column really is and LSU football. (Think Tyrann Mathieu a year ago. Think that didn’t hurt LSU and Les Miles? He has tried to help all of these players, but he can make the tough call, Mr Guilbeau.) Miles is walking a fine line on this case as he has on several others. No one including you knows what other punishment Jeremy Hill will serve. Miles really does have Jeremy Hill’s future in his hands and it appears that he understands that responsibility. Do you?

And since you find LSU and Les Miles so distasteful, perhaps your editors can find a better place for you to ply your trade. I’d leave Baton Rouge off the list as you’ve probably burned any bridges that you may have had here….. at LSU and in the courts….. we don’t need or want you…..
Well put

Jaydeaux Email today to Glenn Guilbeau and his editors..... He ALWAYS has a dissenting opinion. He's not dissenting as much as he's twisting shite to try and make Miles look bad. Maybe you don't know the history with this guy and why he's butthurt but no need to call me a pussy tough guy

No, he doesn't always dissent. You just focus on the times he does. He's actually been very complimentary of Les lately. Quit whining and I'll quit with the name calling.

That letter to the editor looks like it was written by someone who went to a university that only taught STEM courses.

GG is predictable - if he publishes a complimentary column you have a safe bet he's got a slash & burn on deck. I don't really have a problem with him offering his opinion - it's when he distorts the facts offering instead conjecture, rumor and outright mistruths & innuendo instead. He obviously lacks a moral compass while piously accusing everyone from CLM to the legal system of the same. I hold little hope Gannett cares to rein him, all one needs to do is look at what they've done to the local papers they've acquired. CLM and LSU Athletics can however, act to stop the unfairness by severance of ALL access. Enough is enough - I can think of a number of other institutions where this lack of journalistic ethnic would have shown him the boot way before now.

good lord, man...you really take that shite serious enough to write a letter?...

like most all journalists, his job is to sensationalize stories to get readers...I don't think he "hates" LSU...just doing his job...

when people write letters (either positive or negative), that just tells everyone involved that the writer is doing a good job....

He's not paid to be one. Nor is it his job to be one

STFU Glenn.

Lol

We know he's not paid to be a fan, but by the same token, newspapers are either ethically or legally (not sure which) required to offer space to rebut the opposing views of published opinions. What the OP is saying is that when a "news story" crosses the line into pure opinion, it should be labeled as such, and not as reporting.
