Yep, and tweeners like you everywhere are absolutely clueless about it. I'm glad you have overcome your inherent ignorance and finally learned to diffrentiate between 4-7 and 10-2. It took you a while, but I always had confidence you could do it. Now if you could just learn the difference between 6 straight losing seasons and two straight losing seasons. It would help a lot if you were old enough to remember before 1999, but if you stick with it, I'm sure you'll succeed.

saban didn't have that many problems

And that's true - both Saban and Miles have done very, very well in the N.O. area, compared to LSU coaches of the past. Really, only Joe McKnight was a kid that LSU absolutely wanted to have out of New Orleans and didn't get. Even so, a blue chip N.O. recruit is not nearly the automatic get that a Baton Rouge, Leesville, Lafayette or Monroe/West Monroe area kid is.

There were a couple of reasons. Same goes for Reggie Wayne. Dinardo tried hard with a late push to get Wayne, but LSU didn't have the pull at that time that Miami had.

He was fun to play against. He was QB in the same backfield as Rondell Mealey (I know I spelled that wrong)

hen did reed sign?

i think he signed with Um when they were mediocre and rebuilding

I think Butch Davis signed him in his second season. They were Big East champs, but that was when they were "rebuilding" and Syracuse was chellenging them each year. They were still either 8-3 or 9-3 the year before he was signed.

and the black athlete at that time was attracted to the Miami thug reputation & mentality.

the hell?

UM wasn't that thugged out in that time period. they were coming off probation

Not that I agree with the original post, but the general perception of Miami was still the same. Butch cleaned all that up though.
