Sad !!!

That was a hell of a post.

I applaud you vigor and dedication in standing up for the LSU program and the head coach. That is hard to find around here and was pretty much non-existent a month or two ago.

But Ben was being sarcastic. Your fight would be with the posters attacking Ben. It's like they think they are the fans now.

Ben, if you read this, you need to start putting a sarcasm disclaimer in your posts. I have seen you get attacked quite a bit recently by people who don't frequent the board very often and don't know who is who.

Thanks, but if you don’t remember, then what’s this?

My comment was only about using the "I hope" disclaimer to counteract all the personal attacks on the coach.

I’ve criticized his job performance but I’ve never attacked him personally.

Again, if you don’t remember, then what’s that about?

Did anyone not know this? It was obvious he was using sarcasm to call out those that have called him “shrimp boat captain.”

It was unnecessary and just a way to start a fight where there wasn’t one. He even manned up and admitted it was dickish.

Sorry. Had to delete my post. Didn't realize the history of the original posters involved

It's all good. I wish I had seen the post. To the poster 19 don't worry about it. The posters that I respond to have usually attacked other posters that were seen as sympathetic to O and E. Now they want to act as if they've done nothing wrong and that's not good enough. They should apologize to the board, other posters and the coaching staff for their poor and asinine behavior.

I don't think that you were one of the main culprits so yeah I may have been a little out of line here in this thread.

If it were the other way around I’m not sure I wouldn’t have done the same. You’re good, brother.

He’s coaching the best LSU team in several years

Thing is, talent-wise, this team overall is no better than any in the last several years. And is worse in some areas...like RB and DL.

I think that actually helps out.

You get a Fournette, or even a Guice, and it's easy to go run-heavy. We might be undefeated with a back like that. We were a few years ago, heading into the Bama game.

But when you face a legit more talented team (like Bama is), you can't expect to run. Even though your back is as good as it gets, the line isn't able to negate Bama's opposing D line and LBs. And Bama's not the defense you want your QB to try to learn to pass against.

I think we're in better shape to play with Bama than we have been in years. I can't see Bama putting much more heat on the QB than Florida did, and we were still in position to win that. UGA gave us the BIG GAME atmosphere, so that won't be a shock like it can be. And State will be a good reminder that you have to continue all the way through, that you can't slack off.
