It was glaring to me that we don't have a stud receiver. I think this kid could come in as a freshman and play a lot of reps immediately.

We need a threat on the edge of his caliber

You need an offensive line that can protect and give the Qb time to throw it…

I’m ready to see Mothershed. Some of these smaller guys aren’t cutting it. If we can’t separate why not use another big target. He’s 6’5 210 need to use that especially in the red zone.

Pop Houston to Royal would be a deadly combo

Remember when Daniels wouldn’t throw it to far better WRs than we have right now? He didn’t trust them, and they were NFL guys. Once he did, he won a damn Heisman.

A couple of guys of Royal’s caliber give a QB the confidence that they can just throw it up there and their guys will make the play. It is quite obvious Sam isn’t feeling that with anyone besides Green today and it’s hard to blame him when they aren’t consistently winning battles out there.

Leavitt is definitely missing some open opportunities. He’s pressing. He’s way too in his head and quick to give up on a play and run. But it’s also clear he’s doesn’t feel like he can throw it up and expect some of these guys to make the tough play. He needs a safety blanket WR like Royal.

We may see him out there in Green’s role assuming he’s out for a while. He took some camp reps at TE.
