As mentioned before, the Ducks will be playing LSU at the best possible time. We'll be learning a new offensive scheme, with God knows who at QB and young running backs.
i disagree. while i think our offense will be ironing out the kinks early, so will theirs. dont forget, the only teams who have beaten chip kelly's ducks have had lots of time to prepare and are big and physical up front(boise, tOSU, aubbie). i would say we fit that mold. their rhythm and timing offense will also be slow starting and not as dynamic as the well oiled machine they are mid season. so i say the early game schedule is a wash.

Not to mention we travel very well so it should be a home-away-from-home field advantage.
more specifically, LSU- for whatever reason- plays great at night, and on turf. see our recent bowl success- all at night in doors on a fast track, see our only bowl loss: at noon in a swamp.

as far as how out defense compares to auburns- i dont think itll be as good. we are young but extremely talented up front- no nick fairlys yet. our LB play has been a decade long weakness. our secondary is the strength of our team. however, we dont play spread teams very well, and we wont be able to shut down your running game and make you one dimensional with the pass- like auburn did. when yall can run it and make first downs, the high speed tempo comes into play and we'll be vulnerable to that- as every team you play doesnt have the same level of conditioning as yall do.

our offense is big up front and likes to power run. we dont know who our OC or QB will be, but take this to the bank- we will try to pound your undersized defense and control the clock. we wont be very dynamic in the passing game, but LSU fans have come to expect this. dont yall lose many play makers on D? i think itll be a tough first game matchup for those guys.

overall, it should be a good one. im proud of our athletic depts for putting this game together. if the ducks lose, get ready for SEC onslaught about how the pac12/ducks cant play with the SEC. that shite itll get annoying quick

generally, the LSU defense is better than AUbie.

We are getting in our own SEC transfer/JC QB, Mettenberger, but he has yet to do it on the field. If Mettenberger does not start vs Oregon, Oregon should be favored.

LSU special teams is better than Aubie. Aubie is the name of their mascot.

Most games LSU won were won by special teams and/or defense.
The loss to Ark was due to one LSU d-back, who gave up two TDs, taking a kill route instead of looking to stop the play for limited gain.

Our defense is comprised of 11 very angry, very militant, very black men with yellow eyes and evil intentions.

As you may know, Gary Crowton's offenses get really good the year after he leaves. So get ready for that.

My little brother went to UO and I always enjoyed visiting Eugene and seeing games at Autzen. Welcome.
