how do you see the 2011 LSU team comparing to the 2010 Auburn team we just played?
They beat y'all. We will beat y'all.
So about the same.

resembles a football uniform

Sackquack
As mentioned before, the Ducks will be playing LSU at the best possible time. We'll be learning a new offensive scheme, with God knows who at QB and young running backs.
The X factor, IMO, will be the fact that for big games, LSU manages to kick into another gear (see aTm game...offense looked the best it did all year). Les somehow finds a way to get it done. Not to mention we travel very well so it should be a home-away-from-home field advantage.
I really like the Ducks though. Darron Thomas is coming back and he's proved to be mobile enough to give defenses fits. Couple that with the fact that last year, we didn't fare very well vs the type of offense y'all run.
If we were playing the 5th or 6th game of the season, I don't think Oregon wins. But it being the first game and all of the unknowns we bring, this game could go either way, IMO.
Know this though....LSU's defense will be all over you like a fat kid on cake. Welcome to the board and as some have mentioned, don't take the insults personal. This place is called the rant for obvious reasons. And if you're going to the game, get there very early and stop by as many LSU tailgates as you can. Be prepared to be Tiger-baited but take it in stride. Express your desire to try some south Louisiana quisine and enjoy!

Personally, I have to think the Tigers will be favored by 5-7 points based on better personnel, especially in the trenches, and what will amount to an 80-20 home field advantage.
80/20? Y'all aren't getting any tickets

Here's how I see it. LSU will have a better overall defense than AU had but pro style teams generally have a hard time stopping spread teams.
The main reason for this is they get less practice time against the spread. Most of the time its your teams defense going against your teams offense. Take the spring game for instance. If we go to an all pro style attack our defense will be scrimmaging against that in the spring game, not the spread.
The scout team is made up of mainly walkons and third stringers and thus has a hard time replicating the speed of a real spread team.
I think that was the main reason the NC game was so low scoring was that both teams defenses get to practice every day against one of the best spread offenses in the country. That is a huge advantage.
So while I think our defense has more talent than Auburn's, I'm not sure that will translate into us having as much success as they did against Oregon.
On the flip side, most here think our offense won't be as difficult for the Ducks to stop as Auburns was. I think just the opposite. Again it is a question of style. Oregon's defense is built small and quick to combat the more wide open west coast offenses. They don't get to see too many big and talented power teams in the course of the season, outside of USC's teams of awhile back. I think the ducks will have a much harder time stopping our offense than they had stopping Auburns, especially considering the heavy losses in their front seven from this year.
I think there will be more scoring in this game than the NC, but in the end LSU will control the ball with their power running game and win by a touchdown or more.
One other big factor I think will be overall depth on the roster. It really comes into play in the first couple of games since the players are not in game shape yet and are more prone to cramps and tire quicker. I do think LSU has a big advantage in depth, espcially in the trenches.

Duckbait - LMAO !!!! That was a good one!
Louisiana has the best duck hunters in the nation (Ark may disagree - but screw Ark)and we are going to make a hell of a duck gumbo after the game.
Other comments by previous posters spot on.
Defense better than the CHEATERS.
OL about the same. RB´s and receivers overall better
Total offense a little less but more spread out between the many playmakers we have.
Only question is QB, and if it plays out as we expect, its gonna be a rough night for the Ducks.
Welcome to the Rant.
And y'all come back now, ya hear!
