So we don't currently have 48 players on the baseball team, and need to get that number down to 35?

Ok, but you're assuming that is the main reason and that players aren't really leaving because of Mainieri.

Again, you don't truly know and you're spit balling your reason as much as I am. That's why I asked if you were close to the program and might know some inside info that we don't know. The attitude you have about it makes it seem as much, but really you're just fronting like a motherfricker.

No you are right. The players leaving were all solid contributors and looked primed to play massive roles for years to come. Those players are hauling arse out of the program. What you are saying makes more sense.

I'm making an educated guess. Perhaps you just aren't that educated. Or perhaps your hatred for Mainieri supersedes what little common sense you may have.

Or perhaps you made about three assumptions in a row again. But no, keep calling people stupid, moron, not educated, no common sense. It makes you look so mature. I feel like I'm debating with a 16 year old.

Or.... You are debating with someone who enjoys ruffling the feathers or people like you. It works every single time.

My feathers are ruffled? You're the one resorting to name calling. Right off the bat. Let's be completely honest here, this isn't about you trolling or debating. You melted as soon as somebody dared to say anything negative about Paul Mainieri. Trolls don't give a shite one way or the other. You just got called out on the fact that you don't know shite anymore than anybody else, and now you're pulling the 'ole "haha I trolled you and look at you now!" routine.

Dude. I never once claimed to. My argument is backed with logic and reasoning. Yours is backed with the usual "Fire Pawwwlll."

Don't be mad you are a idiot, and I called you on it and you can't defend it. Just stop being an idiot.

He doesn’t need to resort to the name calling, but his deductive reasoning as to why these guys are leaving was much more sound logically than “Paul is a douche”. We’ve got way more guys than roster spots now, and it’s not a coincidence that each one of these guys leaving had multiple others ahead of them at their respective positions. While I would think this would be obvious to anyone, I have also heard some close to the program say as much, since that seems to be what you need to hear in order to see the forest through the trees.

I am going to assume that Mike Bianco has a better understanding of who Mainieri is than any of us and he wanted his son to play for him.

So with a massive amount of players entering the transfer portal, how many will actually find places to play?? I would think every program is having log jam roster issues which will mean very limited space for the majority of teams out there! I think a lot of players will just be forced to hang up the spikes which is just sad! JUCO's are going to get loaded up as well and even with much larger roster sizes you can still only play 9 guys. Again I think a lot of players will just have to quit and move on. It SUCKS and I feel for everyone of them!

Bianco had a decent fall but when the lights come on he hasn’t done a thing to keep himself in the lineup and it’s been a decent sample size
Hughes was in the same boat
They can’t say pm didn’t give them a lot of opportunities

And for the record longtime South Carolina Asst and former liberty coach Tomans son committed too

Bianco was way down the depth chart as a catcher, wasn't going to pass up Beloso at first, wasn't going to play second over Doughty, wasn't going to play third over Mathis, got passed up by multiple players in the OF.

Bianco came to LSU with the intention on being a full time starter, especially for this season & going forward. Obviously, your quote paints a picture where he is probably never going to be a full time starter for the Tigers, so he is off to greener pastures. He is a very good player, may still have an excellent college baseball career, but as it happens, sometimes you are on a team that simply has better, or more consistent players that need to be on the field. Hey, he may even come back to haunt us, but that's baseball!

Bianco is not even going to be one hard decisions.

It's probably a good decision by Drew. He was given opportunities as a freshman and sophomore to secure a position and didn't make much of them.

Go someplace new and begin with a fresh mindset to succeed.

I was wondering about Costello. He was on the D1 Baseball transfer portal tracker the first or second day it was up, and then his name disappeared.

So, with Biggs and Costello gone, and counting Bianco as gone for now, that puts us at 46/35.

We probably won't see much movement again until after the draft.

We are one of the two SEC West finalists for the Missouri State transfer I mentioned earlier in the thread.

ETA: Costello's brother is also transferring from Hofstra. I wonder if they will try to play together. I really liked Costello's upside, he just wasn't putting it together on the mound.
