Down by 1, bottom of the 8th, runners on 1st and 3rd, and less than 2 outs.

MS. State has a pitcher that is dealing and Jay has the infield playing back. No way you can let another run score. You must play the infield in to cut off that run, especially on the corners. This is the play where Reaves, playing back, fumbles the ball and makes the error. We go down by two and now the home run in the 9th doesn’t Tie the game.

So with 1 out you want them to not play DP depth?

Thats…..something.

You should at least play the corners up. So many opportunities open up for the hitter with the corners playing back. The safety bunt or squeeze is now in play and the ball hit to the corners, with the corner fielders back, for sure scores the run.

Shifts the infield 42 times a game but bring the corners in to get the runner heading home?!? Nah

DP in the middle, in on the corners.... it's like really common, friend.

For those who have never played baseball, this is hard for them to understand. The infield should have been playing in on that play, especially the corners infielders. Reaves catches that ball on the first hop and cuts off that run if he is playing in.

He said infield in, friend. What you’re referring to would be, corners in, friend.

You still don’t know the difference between infield in and corners in. Your edit AFTER my post was cute though. You should stay out of the baseball discussions from now on.
