It's funny to me to read about the overconfidence on this board. I'm not saying LSU won't win, I'm just saying that Penn State is hardly a given. In fact, the UNBAISED people in the know seem to think that Penn State is the better team.
Some Vegas handicappers/ books make or publish power rankings of teams that are meant to compare the relative strengths of the teams to the line.
However, the line isn't necessarily a reflection of who "Vegas" thinks will win the games. It's a reflection of how much "Vegas" thinks the public will bet on each side.
For instance, after watching LSU struggle and stumble through this season, Vegas might think more people will bet on Penn State and thus make them a small favorite.

Go back and look at the lines of LSUs last 4 bowl games.
