You don't cut ties with an upper classmen after one game. Especially one that is very familiar with the defense. The MLB is the one that makes any defensive changes pre snap and he did a decent job of changing coverages. I'm more of a Beckwith fan, but Welter is pretty smart on the field just lacks the intangibles.

Welter hasn't even lettered at LSU yet. He was beyond horrible last night and in the bowl game. Barrow can make any call that Welter can.

He's fricking garbage dude.

Get over it.

Our OLBs have plenty of experience in this defense

We don't need welter on the field period.

The few times I specifically watched welter he didn't do much. But in Chief I trust.

I think they should let him get a few more starts...
That's probably what Chavis is going to do.

Wasn't this Welter's first start ever? Let him start against UAB/Saban State and see if he makes any improvement at all.

If you haven't played much, sometimes it takes awhile to get used to the speed of the game.

I don't think the Chief is the type of coach that will continue playing an athlete if he can't get the job done. Give it a few more weeks and see what goes down.

im sure mcgaughey bangs down les' door demanding that seth fruge, rocky d and welter anchor his kick coverage team. chavis is chief quimby and miles is inspector gadget when it comes to the MLB situation.

and the pass "deflection" was a open WR dropping a pass and Welter hitting him 2 seconds later

Guilty as charged, I guess I was grasping at straws.

I've never seen a lb dive and swipe at ball carriers ankles like he did.

It was at least 5 times he did it last night. He looked completely outmatched.

So an avi of myself is more gay than another grown arse man putting a 18-21 year old football player as his?

Makes sense.

You do realize gurley, yeldon, Henry and Manziel will target and have their way with him right? Pretty sure barrow can adjust the defense just fine.

I thought Welter was only playing because the starter was injured?

Please tell me that was the case.
