Footwork, poise, and toughness are big liabilities for him. He hears footsteps and typically panics resulting in a poor throw or pick. I’ve always pulled for the guy though. You never know when the light might come on and he has made some big time throws.

He’s not an NFL QB. Got NFL arm strength but has Low IQ. Makes too many dumb decisions especially throwing into triple coverage constantly for NO reason! It’s tough to make an NFL roster as a starting QB with so many low IQ plays. His ceiling is career backup.

If he quits playing like a mentally challenged individual, possibly.

He needs to put on the full regalia and slay the ghosts.

Per Google search, these are the attributes of an NFL QB. How does Nuss compare to JB & JD? Accuracy Arm strength Footwork Poise Anticipation Mobility Pocket Presence Toughness

Dumb post. Dude has been playing hurt all year with two injuries. Pretty sure that puts him in the tough category and has gotten up after every hit.

His pocket presence is actually good. He just hasn’t run the ball but broke a long one last game.

And I’d say his anticipation might be better than Daniel’s.

Otherwise, I think he’s behind. Maybe footwork? Is Daniels really known for his footwork other than just being blazingly fast and athletic?

So everybody thought and agreed Nuss was a Heisman candidate this year. Experts and fans alike. And that he would go in the first round. We were all excited. Then has an injury and isn't quite himself and all of a sudden people think he's a different quarterback?

He's still the same quarterback that threw for 4000 yards with a rocket arm that takes a few chances here and there. A gunslinger. He has one injury that obviously inhibited his arm strength but I guess the combination of his gunslinger ways of making a bad decision here there mixed with the injury made everyone forget.

I don't understand why people don't realize this is the same guy who they were all hyped about. We all watched every game he played last year. He's still just as good. He will still go in the first round or early second. People act like they're analyzing some new quarterback transfer we just got who can't quite cut it. He's not worse than he was last year. He was simply injured.

So whatever everyone thought last year, you should be thinking this year

Does everyone not trust their own judgments from last year? He didn't regress. He had an injury.

HUH? Nuss can barely get the ball 35 yards down the field. His weakest attribute is deep passes and Daniel’s best is his deep ball, what do you guys watch where you come to these conclusions lol
He had to have been confused

That's not how this works. That's not how it ever works when you're projected that high. It's under the assumption you improve on your flaws, which is typically what happens to a player if they do make it in the 1st round with their potential. He regressed and got worse. If anything, his draft stock is tanked now and he's a similar player as last year only worse. If he wants to shut everyone up he better start going on a tear starting this weekend. He looked healthy against SC and nearly single-handedly did everything he could to get a bad team back in the game 2 INTs and nearly fumbled it on the goal to give SC life and a chance.

He cost LSU 2 drives with points and almost cost them another at the end of the game to seal it up. You're suppose to get better not worse as the season projections happen. He's basically a worse version of himself with the flaws more amplified.

Nothing about Nussmeier is better than Jayden...Football IQ, Arm strength, speed, improvisational skill, accuracy, pocket presence, throwing on the run, heart, etc... nothing

Literally my whole point. He didn't regress. I mean the man was injured. Why does no one seem to understand that that matters???
You think from watching the games,.. that INJURY ASIDE, Garrett has regressed from last year? What is different about him from last year? What has he done to regress besides having an abdominal strain that kept him from throwing as accurate as he wants or with the strength that he wants?
Five interceptions through six games this year. Last year 12 interceptions through 13 games. And that was healthy.

He hasn't regressed. He was injured.
He's actually running more now. He's not throwing more interceptions than last year.
Last year it was OK because he made up for it. This year he was throwing ducks,.. and the combination of that and the interceptions were too much for any of you to take, and too many people think he's garbage now.
It makes zero logical sense.
Everyone crapping on him is gonna be right on his jockstrap again soon enough

I think he does. He is not going to be a starter, but he certainly could be something like a camp quarterback and may see the field in some specialized situations.

He is not particularly physically gifted, but he has good knowledge of the game and reads defenses well. Let’s face it, the fact that his dad is an NFL coach and the fact that has grown up around the game doesn’t hurt.

You’re hilarious. If any defense played Daniels like they’re playing Nuss, he’d run for +300yds in the 1st half and when they stacked the box he’d throw for another 300.

It makes perfect logical sense. He's turning the ball over more. He was 100% healthy against SC and he didn't play good at all so the injury excuse doesn't fly anymore. I actually do think he has regressed in areas. One of them being is he's just not very good at throwing WRs open like he did last year with anticipation. He hasn't done that all year. Whether that was injury or not he didn't do it all that great against SC either. His production across the board has went down and so far what we've seen with him being healthy, it's still not anywhere near last year. I would say that's regression.

He doesn’t compare to any NFL starter but I’m thinking maybe Ewers who’s 3rd string and a very long shot to ever start.

Really? I actually think this is a big problem he has. LSU's needs to convert to a more scripted offense with pre-snap audibles from the sidelines. I actually think it's the opposite. He's bad at making pre-snap reads on defense and then when the play develops, he gets worse the more he thinks looking at a defense. In fact, he doesn't see the field well at all. Which is why the defenses love playing shells over the top because he won't take what the defense gives him with wide open WRs running 10-15 yards over the middle of the field. I'd actually say he's BAD at reading defenses and can't process information fast enough which is why he panics, gets happy feet, and the longer a play lasts the more likely he's going to throw an INT/bonehead decision. It's go big or go home with him when you HAVE to take what a defense gives you something he has never learned. I can't tell you how many times this season I've seen him look deep and just completely ignore the guy running 10-15 yards over the middle who would've just absolutely gashed the defense.

His stats in SEC play dating back to last year just are not very good. Maybe he's really not that good. Once he got figured out, defenses have been doing good success on him dating back to last year.
