Hell, give him a 3 yr extension and pay raises across the board to all the coaches. They deserve it, according to some idiots on here. Then we can keep Miles even longer and pay him $5mil to finish in the middle of the pack.

Who is saying the Off. coaches deserve a pay raise?

Lifetime contract. We beat Arky at home in OT on a missed FG. Time to ink that contract.

Funny that someone can go from "Lesticles", holding a NC trophy, to being run out of town on a rail in a couple of seasons.

You probably would like that wouldn't you. Hell lets just give Miles his buyout and give him an additional cool million a year for beatin R-kansas. Just perfect if you ask me.

Sorry Drizz, got caught up in the moment taking things to seriously. Just losing my mind with all these Miles lovers running around on here like we just won the BCS championship.

Miles is in line for another 1 year extension after winning 8 games once again this year.
In your eyes, does he deserve it? Should he get it?
My take is NO! He shouldn't have gotten it last year with only 7 FBS wins and he shouldn't get it this year to send him a message that the quality of play on the field at LSU has to be better. The coaching has to be better, and the player development has to be better.
I don't want Les fired, because 1) its too expensive and 2) I am hoping he cleans house on the offensive side of the ball.
Imagine if JJ actually got real QB coaching for once in his college career and our OL actually got coaching. We could have a great team.

I dont want Les fired, which is not going to happen, but no extension for sure. I don't get my bonus each year bec ause I do an average job or ok job, I have to exceed expectations. With the talent LSU has, no way did the coaching staff exceed their expectations.

Swampcat, you don't want him to get an extension but don't want him fired either. What are you saying give him another year and see what happens?

Given that an overwhelming number of people seem to be against an extension, it is important to let the Athletic Department and TAF know your concerns.
Calling for Miles' firing won't change anything, and honestly, he shouldn't be fired.
However, you can feel something is done for your concerns by this extension not keep his contract over our heads, so contact Alleva and let him know how you feel.
People calling for Les to be fired need to stop. He isn't going anywhere.

I doubt if the 52 posts in this thread constitutes a majority feeling that way. Miles should get whatever his contract says he should get until the time LSU decides to buy out his contract.
Anyway, who do you think we are gonna get if he leaves? Who would want to come here after they see the W/L that Miles has and we still run him out of town...and I don't care what the scores were in his wins. A win is a win. I feel the same way about the last 2 seasons as many negatigers do, but I'm not convinced that we get someone who can do a better job at this point.

No. He will fire Crowton, hire a new OC. If he dosen't win the West next year, he will be fired.

No way, but is it not automatic w/ 8 wins?

Oh c'mon...you know guys like Gruden and Cowher will be panting to take the LSU job.

No! And you're remark about getting JJ a QB coach is a good one! He really could be pretty darned good with the right coaching. He's a competitor, he works hard, he needs some good coaching to take him to a higher level. Go get one Les!

Again, his contract does NOT guarantee him an extension if he gets 8 wins or more. It simply says that's the basic barometer. It's up to the AD.
He currently has 4 years remaining on his contract thanks to his extension (undeserved) from last season. Correct that error, and don't give him one this season, because honestly, he doesn't deserve the extension given the last two seasons. Records aside this team has NOT performed well on both sides of the ball consistently.
I think this is a fair way for the AD and TAF to quell the "Fire Miles" crowd and let him know that he's on notice to improve the quality of play (not results) or there will be consequences, while also giving LSU some freedom to not bankrupt ourselves SHOULD the team begin to seriously decline.
He'd still be guaranteed $11.25M after next season if we don't give him the extension, and that is fair IMO. You can't fire him after this year for multiple reasons including money and he was able to win 2nd in the division.

My posts from cc board, but relevant to this thread.

GC did not forget how to coach. Recall that w/ first year starter MF at the helm, GC was the OC for the best scoring offense in LSU history.
My take is he is an intellectual type coordinator and the beleives in the read and believes that qb's need classroom type preparation. This style fit Matt Flynn very well, thus the success.
When GC gets a qb like Matt Flynn or if perhaps one of the current guys becomes or turns out to be that type QB then GC will be very successful.
I sure hope that it is next year. Playing 2nd fiddle to Bama, NOT FUN.
